Several things today can't be compared with what was obtainable in the time frame you mentioned. I understand the nostalgia of football from that era. The first nation cup I recall having some idea of what was happening was Algiers 90. Watched Senegal 92 and for me that was THE Afcon of all Afcons. Football has since moved on from that era, and those of us who had our early football years in that period need to accept it.
