The EFCC alleged that the defendant had sometime in August 2020 in Lagos with an intent to extort money from Access Bank Plc, knowingly sent an electronic mail to the bank’s management to demand money.If the guy contacted access bank to notify them, even if he required money, it means he had no intention to commit any crime. What access bank should have done is ask him how he does that and block off others who are committing crime with it. In Western countries, they even have bounty programs that willingly pay people like that to notify them of such faults. Now, more criminals would hack into access bank and nobody would hear about it. |

Nah he isn’t an hacker. He’s most likely a Script kiddie. Na mumu dem be. And for Access bank, it’s not just by arresting him. They need to ask him how he was able to find a vulnerability in their system and exploit it so they can mitigate the risks of being attacked through that same loophole. |
