A fraud victim whose Paypal account was hacked sent a hilarious letter to the woman responsible - after she left her name and address.

Huw Evans, 23, was enjoying a night at his local pub with a pal when he received a message from the online payment system thanking him for his ‘purchase’.

He was shocked to see a receipt pop up for $135 (AUD), spent on clothing website Prettylittlethings.com.

Huw, who works in marketing, said he knew straight away the purchase wasn’t made by him.

When he checked his account he found details for a woman called ‘Lauryn’ at an address in Merton Park, south west London.

Paypal also quickly realised the purchase wasn’t made by Huw, and sent him a full refund.

But as a way of acting his revenge Huw decided to write a letter to ‘Lauryn’ using the address the Prettylittlethings.com purchase was delivered to.

In it witty reply Huw, of Redhill, Surrey, wrote that he “is not a pit of money” and signs it off with “warm regards and f**k you”.

Single Huw said: “Me and my friend drafted the letter together and we just wanted to be sarcastic about it.

“We were still in the pub and drafted the letter on my phone.

“I did it mostly for the fun of it and for the satisfaction of knowing the person might end up reading it.

“It was a big surprise and I have no idea how they accessed my account.

“For me it was a little bit of revenge and taking back control.”

Huw’s account was used without his consent by another person on Sunday February 9.

The buyer used his Paypal to buy two items of clothing costing a total of $135 (AUD)

As well as her name she also left her delivery address - which gave Huw the inspiration he needed to write his letter as a way of acting revenge.

The next morning Huw sat down to write the letter out in full.

In the hilarious missive Huw hits out at the “cheeky little ragamuffin” who stole money from his account.

The full letter
He wrote: “My Dearest Lauryn, I hope this letter finds you well, elegantly clad in your newest purchases from PrettyLittleThings.

“I am writing to you on this crisp February morning to ask you to f******’ not.

“Whilst I appreciate the appeal of free stuff is often insurmountable, I regret I am not a pit of money and my kindness does not extend to the non-consensual purchases of tacky clothing for total strangers.

“I highly recommend you embark on an administrative apprenticeship, or indeed any other job, so that you may self-fund these extravagant endeavours in the future.

“Keep me updated, I would provide contact details but I suspect you already have them.

“Let me know if you’d like my mother’s maiden name, national insurance number or favourite childhood teacher.

“warm regards and f**** you, Huw.”

Huw has been given a full refund by Paypal and he has reported the incident to Action Fraud.

He said he is concerned at how his account was seemingly hacked and has since changed his login details.
