Reps Ask NNPC To Suspend Companies Involved In Importation Of Bad Fuel by oshozondii(op): 1:34pm On Feb 10, 2022
The House of representatives has asked the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited to suspend the companies involved in the importation of methanol-blended petrol.

The lower legislative chamber also asked the NNPC to provide the names of the companies to its committee for investigation.

The resolution was passed during the plenary session on Thursday following the adoption of a motion of urgent public importance sponsored by Mohammed Monguno.

Mele Kyari, group managing director of the NNPC Limited, had said MRS, Oando, Emadeb Consortium, and Duke Oil, a subsidiary of the NNPC, imported the methanol-blended petrol.

NNPC is the sole importer of fuel in Nigeria and buhari is the minister of petroleum

Shouldn't the minister the first person to be queried?

Is NNPC no more the sole importer of petroleum products again?

The Reps should summon the Minister of Petroleum if they indeed have the balls.

I have learned from experience that a reactive method of running any establishment is a recipe for disaster. This fuel in the first place was not meant to see the light of the day, however, it crossed all the quality checking bodies and made it to the fuel tank of the ordinary individual on the street. Talk about a government that looks out for its citizens.

I remembered when Nigeria wanted to start exporting yam, the foreign guys rejected it because it was of "low quality". We have agreed to perpetually resort to importing fuel and the government failed even at that.

They have been importing low quality fuel right from time, they just decided to reduce the quality even more and test the waters. I have decided to only buy fuel only from Enyo after constantly changing my fuel pump every two months.
