It's so hard to find pictures of Igbo foods that aren't soups. After this, I think I will come back later to post mainly soups, because this isn't funny at all.

The abundance of fresh ingredients and spices to cook with, meant that the traditional average person ate like the kings of some other climes.

Does anyone else have any pictures of Igbo delicacies? ( preferably not soups). I personally would have posted more soups. (And there are a lot of them) But I already created a thread focusing on them here:

https://www.nairaland.com/6364237/showcasing-diversity-igbo-cuisine

I have heard of a lot more foods myself, but the sad thing is that there are no google images I can find to support it. Taking pictures of your village or town's foods is always a welcome development.

Achicha made from dried cooked and dried cocoyam(ede) 1-2 photos

Orumba and Aguata people cook Aribo and Aniga…Aniga is indigenous to that area.

I got these online…
Ukwa na oka….(breadfruit and corn)

Orumba/Aguata have a special way of combining the two…

Ask any Isuofia, Ekwulobia, Nanka and Okoh about ‘Ahuoka’

Nwokem jiri ya nwayoo.

I never said that…ukwa na oka bu ozuru Igbo onu….
I only said Orumba and Aguata don’t joke with the combo….Ahuoka is a local term for the two and that word resonates well around the area especially Isuofia, Ekwulobia, Nanka and Okoh.

Other places might have a local name for it but ‘Ahuoka’ is 100% Orumba/Aguata.

Hmmmm... This reminds me of one Igbo girl I dated during NYSC... That girl used food and (*coughs*) other things to reset my destiny...at a point, I wasn't sure I would come back to Lagos. Igbo girls can cook abeg.

Igbos should have gone to represent Africa in lies at the Chinese Olympics The only food Igbos have is Akpu with the leafy soups, then a few snacks. Even rice is eaten by Igbos on Sundays, that's where their "Sunday rice" came from. I even saw Moin-Moin among the list as Igbo food and what looks like Akara. Shame! Next time list your food with the name beside it. I wish I have time to list Yoruba food so you can learn one or two things on superiority.

It's sad no vaccines for dishonesty. I'm sure they never tasted most of what they are calling Igbos food until they arrived in Yorubaland. The picture of food on top of your comment is Idalu/adalu that Yoruba cook when laying house foundation.

For the hundreds of Igbo recipes out there, only a few of them had pictures attached. Even then, many of them are quite grainy.

Do you know that with the appropriate investments, Igbo food can be marketed as a sophisticated Vegan/Vegetarian cuisine?

It seems hard to think about, as most Igbos eat meat with every meal. But traditionally, there are so many meat substitutes or meat enhancers made of plant protein (mushrooms, legumes, nuts) within the Igbo diet that can be marketed internationally, just like the Japanese marketed Tofu. And Igbos have much more 'tofu-like' foods.

Etc, Agbara atui, Igba uzoaki, osu akidi, elele agwa....etc, etc (This list is not exhaustive)
