I cant defend our terrible system but why should someone govern me just because he choose to be a solider and I chose some other profession? Why should I be led by someone just because he has a gun.
What makes the army the ultimate profession for leadership.
Don't forget that even our present democracy has deep roots in the military. Obasanjo and Buhari comes to mind. They both were army generals, what difference did it make?

military don't take over to rule forever anymore, they take over to reset the nation back to a new proper democracy, that's the modern days coup purpose.
You can see the whole several unfortunate incidence across Africa recently.
If the democracy we flaunts as best government is not even close to good, not to talk of better, then we need a military take over, at least from the hands of these current leaders.
I know it's not the best option but it's our only option.
Because democracy is not supposed to be like this as it is in Nigeria Friend.
Anyway I hope it doesn't lead to any major conflict sha

The military never give up power willingly. They hold on to power.
Also, the military don't have the ability to reset any country. They are more corrupt that the civilians.
In Africa, the few nations progressing are all under civil rule.
Look at our neighbors Ghana and ivory coast.
The worst leaders we have in Africa are all dictators.
Democracy is not the solution to every problem but at least we knuw, no one would last forever on the seat of power.

Honestly, I have no idea but I wouldn't want to go back to something I have tried and it didn't work.
It was the military that destroyed and corrupted Nigeria.
In the 40 years of military rule, the value of the naira fell by over 1400%. Same with oil price and our foreign debt.
The economy was stagnant. We can't go back to that
