Folks, the hot season is here and with the rampaging global warming the climate will be particularly fiery this year. There are three things that fires require for ignition; fuel, oxygen and a heat source. Every electrical device will be going through heat stress in this period from the wires in your ceilings, floors and walls to your overworked air conditioners, fridges and chillers. Make sure these devices and other electrical/electronic appliances and devices in your homes and business premises and are properly ventilated and not overworked. And for heavens sake get a fire extinguisher. Every building should have one or more on each floor level and spaced no more than 30 metres apart and should be strategically placed around access points and circulation routes and everyone in your dwelling must have a rudimentary knowledge of how to operate one correctly and effectively. Beware. |

The forum has been reduced to platform of jesters spewing nonsense. Something definitely should be done to make nairaland a forum for sane minds with reasonable takes on issues. Moferere: |

Klass99:Although no life was lost but the fire was serious. I wish Nairaland allowed for video sharing, I woulda shown you. They all ran out in stampede, screaming and some of them were stark naked, in their underwears or wrapper. My friend was asleep when it happened and she was very very very lucky that she wasn't burnt, and then she had panic attack. NLS still taught them today oh. No care for mental health. ![]()
