STOP confusing Quality and Premium

Under no circumstance should quality EVER be compromised or people be made to pay extra for quality delivery.

Quality should be the basic hallmark of every businesses and corporations while Premium should be for those willing to pay more for extra functionality of the delivery.

The fact that Ferrari, Lamborghini or Mercedes are luxuries doesn't make Toyota or Honda anything short of quality.

Just imagine, you're here justifying stupidity yet, it's animals like you that blame 9ja Politicians for ineptitude while they're just a reflection of ur madness.

In Nigeria, the riff-raff, useless Artisans that failed the mastery of their crafts due to laziness and ignorance would require customers to pay extra for quality services.

Good morning friends.

I seek your counsel for the electrical issue we have. The house wiring is 3-phase but we use a single-phase meter.

A couple of months ago, there was a 4- day blackout on our estate because of a major fault. To our shock, two of the outside lights/ bulbs continued to shine and gradually waned till they went off after two days. One is on the gatehouse and the other on the house.

We have been wondering what the issue is.

Then, last week, we found that a ceiling light in the kitchen wouldn't go off when the switch was turned off. It would either start blinking or stay lit. About 15minutes later, it would go off on its own.

Please advise on what the cause of the malfunction could be and what should be done.

Call your electrician .. this not a big issue.. might be earthing or neutral issue.. there is patial contact somewhere or check the breaker from the DB

The wiring need to be checked, and do you have inverter system in your building? Check the neutral terminal of the changeover too

how many people want minimalistic designs in Nigeria. You folks in this thread are somewhat living outside of reality seriously.

You guys have been berating Nigeria artisans for a few days now. If you think what we're doing is easy, kindly do it. The reason designs are repeated is because that's what our society wants. We want it big or nothing.

Being an artisan in Nigeria is very very difficult. You want to do something different whereas you don't know how the market will accept it and it's not like you have the funds to test new waters. Getting tools is very very expensive and even when you manage to get it, they will still compare your prices with what others are charging thereby demoralizing you.

What is the purchasing power of Nigerians. How many people can afford treated hardwood. The few who could simply would import it from Dubai.

Biko, if you don't want the artisans are currently making, take your own design and give them to make for you or you can simply import same.

One other truth. You won't find a good furniture maker in Lagos. If you want the best furniture in Nigeria both style and quality, you have to visit Ikot Ekpene in Akwa Ibom.

oga quality is relative. What you call premium might be what someone else calls basic stuff.

If you want something, be ready to pay the commissirate value for it. You can't be looking for Bentley on Toyota budget

You don't need to generalise it as 'the whole of lagos'...there are genuine leather (animal skin) in Mushin, it is sold per square meter..there are special Uphostery guys that use industrial machine for the coverings.

Let them generalize jawe, most of the best guys never advertized since they started the trade and the millions keeps finding them down to the slum they operate from.
If you get money for oyinbo, get it like we haven't seen or used imported items that were below grade n purchased at exhorbitant price before

that's for your kind sir but I ve been on this forum for years and in my experience nairalanders are bad for business, unless you want to spoil your reputation. Thanks to Jiji some of us won't have become anything in life. They want the best, they know the website to extract the best stock photos on earth but when it's negotiation time the combine like 50 artisans and start hit their heads together then play on the weak side of the hungry ones and then come back here to say that they don't get value for their money.

Alot of proffessionals here can relate to what I'm saying. That's why you rarely see some advertising here anymore, unless the newbies.

Thanks for the update and your effort. However, I can tell even without physically touching them that they are substandard grade.
1) Real leather does not fold like clothing. They roll (rug carpet).
2) Real leather doesn't have uniform color in a single piece. Like wood, there is always variations in tone
3) The back of real leather is grainy and not white
4) The ones in these picture don't look like a "whole cow" which is the standard form of cowhide leather
5) The price.

If you can afford it, please try to buy original things. This Bellini set was bought in 2005 for $12k (now over $40k). It’s been through a lot, raising kids etc but still standing strong and look modest.
