Some people do say the captain arm band should be given to the player who has served the longest in the team, some will say the most experienced. In some clubs the players vote for their captain others the coach chooses who will captain his team. I might not know the exact criteria for choosing a captain but I do know that leadership and organisational ability on the pitch and dressing room are very key to the captainship arm band,
was surprised to see Diaz captain Mancity against Sporting Lisbon with De Bruyne and Gundogan on the pitch, a very young De Ligt was captain of Ajax. These two players you can't fault their commitment, passion and good play in the team, both Defenders made their team solid at the back. De Ligt organisation of that defence was instrumental to them reaching the CL final in 2019, so is Diaz in City's title run last season. Does Maguire deserve the captain arm band at United? Definitely No, Has he improved the team defensively? No, has he improved other players around him? No. Has he cost the team goals and points? Many times. How on earth is he the captain of a club as United? Give the armband to De Gea he's more deserving of it than the overhyped, sloppy, slow, community chanced English player.

He has contributed massively to take united to the level it is today. He won champios league, premiere leagues, carling cups and so many for manchester united. Kindly tell me what maguire had ever done successfully for united, he can't defend a single match win for manchester united.
