Minemrys:I know of all these u saying. But that's how industry generally works. Big screen pays more. Besides the big reason you are seeing big stars who have no TV background doing series is cos of big money streaming networks. The key point is how many TV actors get paid big bucks as much as their movie counterparts. Besides, actors and actresses who gets those big pays have usually created a name for themselves in the TV industry. They're powerhouses there already. Eg, Reese Witherspoon, Jenifer Aniston, Meryl Streep etc. Reese and Aniston was paid $20mn for The Morning Show. And these are usually projects that heavily relies on the actor's popularity. Note: TV also loosely refers to shows these days streaming or not. Besides most shows worth watching now (asides reality TV) with huge popularity is usually affiliated with streamers. The Witcher is a different ballgame. It's Big already. A franchise, so Cavill's star power while it helps or improves the show's success doesn't necessarily dictates it's success. There are some BIG actors you'll bring from TV and drop them as leads for huge blockbusters that might fail cos of a slight shift from audiences. Although streaming is changing the narrative these days. |

abduleez1:Cavill is very marketable. He can walk into a blockbuster if he wants to. He's like the rock but even more charismatic. He's star power helped him fleece Netflix into a lucrative deal. Can't say the same for Gal Godot, who is still riding on her Wonder Woman fame. |

| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by abduleez1(m): 8:28pm On Feb 18, 2022 |
RayMcBlue:True. He's very marketable. While Gadot is still riding on the Wonder Woman wave doesn't negate the fact that she's a hot cake now and is the biggest beneficiary of DCEU exposure. Still, Cavill used his DCEU fame to his advantage, which essentially makes him no different from Gal since they both got popular from DC. I'm actually happy for the huge platform and career breakthrough DC has provided these actors and propelled them further: Cavill, Gal, Robbie and now John Cena. Hoping for many more success story to come. |

Kaycee7:e be like you get women for Jason comrade? ![]() |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by RayMcBlue(m): 8:48pm On Feb 18, 2022 |
abduleez1:Calling her a hot cake is an exaggeration. I googled her future projects and the only big projects I could find are WW sequels. She's an A list but only just. She has neither the talent nor charisma to venture into a more challenging and high profile projects. You can't compare her with the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Margot Robbie and Anya Joy Taylor. These women are the real deal and you won't exaggerate if you call them a hot cake. Googling their future projects will also confirm that they are indeed well sort after. Cavill was relatively known before auditioning for Superman, whereas Gadot was a nobody before auditioning for WW. DC gave him a leg up but it can be argued that he was always going to breakout as his career path was in an upward trajectory before catching DC's eye. |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by abduleez1(m): 8:52pm On Feb 18, 2022 |
RayMcBlue:Lol, I'm not talking about net worth. Of course anyone can stack up a huge net worth with various investments, deals and endorsements and career. I'm talking about pay for TV or movie projects not total net worth. Gadot was paid about $10mn compensation for WW84 heading to HBOMax and that's on top of the $10mn she initially got for filming the movie. She got paid $20mn for Red Notice. Same amount for her co-stars Dwayne and Reynolds. I'm hearing she gets paid another $20mn for Netflix's upcoming Spy thriller "Heart of Stone". She still got upcoming Cleopatra with a possible $10mn+ payday. Don't know how much she got for Death on The Nile. Bruh, she's paid way above Cavill presently. Until Cavill gets more new projects under his belt it's safe to say Gal earns more. |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by RayMcBlue(m): 8:57pm On Feb 18, 2022 |
abduleez1:She's in more movies, of course she is going to earn more. Cavill has a lucrative contract with Netflix that won't expire until 2024, but he's always making bank through endorsements and other ventures. At the end of they day, he's more high profile than she is. |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by abduleez1(m): 8:59pm On Feb 18, 2022 |
RayMcBlue:Lol, so it's Gal who doesn't have endorsements and other ventures? You got to be kidding me. ![]() You can argue high profile all u want but she earns more presently which I've stated fr the start. |

Unpopular opinion; Gal Gadot sucks as Wonder Woman. |

| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by RayMcBlue(m): 9:05pm On Feb 18, 2022 |
abduleez1:She doesn't belong in the highest echelons of A list like you claimed, and neither does Cavill but he has more star power than she will ever have. |

RayMcBlue:She's a hot cake if she's highly sought after for action adventure movies. If you talking of actresses for that genre of movies she's the most sought after presently. It'd be disingenuous claiming she isn't sought after. Last week I was seeing some peeps complaining on Twitter about seeing Tom Holland, Reynolds and Gal in almost all new projects. What does that tell u? Bruh u lying if you say her only noteworthy future projects is WW3. she got Heart of Stone, Death on the Nile, Cleopatra and Irena Sendler. All big projects. I can compare her with them cos she's consistently getting projects just like them presently. Although Robbie is ahead of them. Also, remove Johansson from that list. There's hardly any future project of substantial worth she's in. Just two unknown movies that's all. While Cavill might be argued to have a bright future upfront I can classify him as a nobody prior to DCEU. I never knew him before he was superman. Even Gadot had featured in a big franchise even tho I didn't recognize her then. Still, the DCEU was a huge step up for them both. The only true star I can say will eventually be big deal regardless was Margot Robbie cos she had it already. Oscar nomination and was getting huge appraise before DCEU. |

RayMcBlue:Generally speaking, Netflix hands out payments in a way that most studios don't... Their business model kinda lets it slide... Think of it this way, if Red Notice sold tickets, those 3 stars wouldn't be paid the same... I'm old school in judging actors bankabilities... A film with Margot Robbie as the lead might possibly do better than Smith's on streaming, but if those same movies were to be ticket movies, then whose movie earns more wouldn't really be debatable.... |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by RayMcBlue(m): 9:21pm On Feb 18, 2022 |
abduleez1:Your opinions are wack. Imagine saying Scarjo doesn't belong in the list?? I looked at the budgets of Gal Godot's projects and they are all low budget films. Cavill was in The Tudors, a very popular Medieval HBO drama back in the day. Then he played the lead role in Immortals, a blockbuster. He was a b lister then DC elevated him to A list. |

AnfieldFan:So what's your point? |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by AnfieldFan: 9:28pm On Feb 18, 2022 |
Kaycee7:Her movie earned more... But this isn't debatable, Brie's light miles ahead of Gal it isn't funny... As much as we like her, Gal isn't a good actress.... |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by AnfieldFan: 9:28pm On Feb 18, 2022 |
RayMcBlue:Gal can't be compared to the people he mentioned....I thought it was pretty obvious... |

AnfieldFan:Alright, I get you now. |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by AnfieldFan: 9:31pm On Feb 18, 2022 |
abduleez1:ScarJo will be in Asteroid City alongside Robbie... She's bigger than Robbie and Gal ... She's actually sold tickets on the strength of her name only... |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by abduleez1(m): 9:37pm On Feb 18, 2022 |
RayMcBlue:Nah, ain't wack. Na you no wan understand. Remember I was the one who first put Scajo on the list. But later removed her since u said Gadot ain't amongst the list. The metric being SOUGHT AFTER. After doing some checks Scarjo has just two projects all low budget shït u talking about. While the other actresses in the debate all have at least 4 significant projects upcoming. What's the meaning of sought after or in-demand then. Please mention the "low budget" Gadot future projects? Tudors ain't HBO. While it was popular back in the day I haven't watched it, although it's on my watchlist. Okay. I'll take back my words on Cavill. Although I didn't know him till MOS. |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by abduleez1(m): 9:41pm On Feb 18, 2022 |
AnfieldFan:Yeah she might be bigger since she has the earliest career and been in several movies. She has an illustrious career. Which movie has she sold tickets on her name only asides Lucy? |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by Nickshrapnel: 9:44pm On Feb 18, 2022 |
AnfieldFan:Brie is way better than Gal, but she sucked at playing Captain Marvel. I hope she does better in the sequel. |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by Minemrys(op): 9:55pm On Feb 18, 2022 |
RayMcBlue:Witcher isn't a tv series, and yes, I know small screen is small, now if this one could see from my response where I said, some actors receive more than that sum especially for being the face of the series and having a higher profile to draw big audiences. I am very sure this one didn't read what I commented before jumping into the talk. Gracias, this one. |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by Minemrys(op): 10:09pm On Feb 18, 2022 |
abduleez1:I don't think you are grasping what I am trying to say. Cavill is a household name, though far from being an A Lister. Small screen pays less, sure but when it comes to top draws, people whose face brings audiences, they tend to get a higher pay. Check how much Sam L Jackson was paid for to appear in agents of shield, as a cameo appearance and guest. Now, Netflix isn't a tv series but a streaming platform, for Cavill to sign the contract that makes his face a property of the platform, he should be paid more than that. Cause, he is the big sell or top draw of the series. He isn't an unknown. So my guess is, for such contracts to be signed, there has to be added bonuses and the 8 mil thing is just for shooting the series. Or perhaps we are reading what they want us to read. I am not denying that tv shows pay less. Of course. But when it comes to having a known movie star in big grossing films appear on a TV show, they get a higher pay cause of what they attract. And Netflix isn't a tv series platform so we don't get off topic. Modified: If the Witcher franchise was big enough to sell itself, Netflix won't have cast Cavill in the role. There are lots of people who got on it cause of his name. Sword of truth was a best seller, but how come it didn't do well as a tv show? |
| Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by VerifiedStalin: 10:16pm On Feb 18, 2022 |
This guy, like I said, isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, lol. What is The Witcher if not a TV show? It amuses me when individuals are confidently wrong. ![]()
