NURTW members pay dues in thousands of Naira per day eg KEKE riders pay N3,000 aprox per day that is nothing less than N720,000 a year if they work for just 5 days a week

BUT

During campaign they are ready to fight and kill under the command of their union leaders just because of N5,000 they will get.

Someone that can pay his union N720,000 a year is fighting under the command of same union for a meager N5000

When we go wise?

My brother help me ask this same question
For the fools paying for all sort of ticketing in Anambra as enforced during the rile of the Pandora Criminal Peter Obi till date only for Ikpeazu to be rewarding your mothers with mere N500 for birthing more fools to come ask senseless question on NL while ignoring the problem in your region.

Interesting characterisation, but untrue that, "just because of N5,000 they will get".

NURTW is a union of many people who have organised themselves into a formidable force for the benefit of its members, and if those members are not benefitting they will not be "ready to fight and kill under the command of their union leaders" unless your claim is they are brainless, to whit I'd say, brainless people can not possibly be moving millions of people around Nigeria everyday.

There is power in numbers, Hard, and the leaders must benefit its followers or they will not have followers. Also, one must not disregard the years of being in control and benefits provided by NURTW and other such orgs to their members.

Time to form Nairaland Members Association, is what I think. Membership fee of N100 but free for first 1,000 for thinking up the benefits and raison d'etre.

The National Union of Road Transport Workers is an independent Nigerian trade union that serves the interests of transport workers in the road transport sector, by calling for collective obtaining and pushing for social stability for all workers in the transport sector as defined in its constitution.

what benefits are the members gaining?

You should go out and ask them, Hard, then come educate us. Do like a 15 minute YouTube or something and reduce our ignorance.

Some benefit though, I'd say off my head top is being part of a group. When you see agbero you know you touch one you touch many, so security would be another benefit. Plus power. No one going for governor of Lagos would attempt it without NURTW on their side.

I am personally jealous!

That wouldn't surprise me since followers are never satisfied and leaders always reduce the benefits they pay out the more powerful they become.

Still, the paying followers must benefit from being members of NURTW if they are paying what you claim, or they must be very stupid, and disorganised.
