The line has been successfully unlinked, I don't know if it is MTN(they told him he has to go to their office with his NIN), the guy or someone here did it, thank you everyone for the inputs. I also thank the mods for bringing the topic to wider audience.

I suggest you go and block any ATM card (Account) linked to that SIM card. Better still if you have reasonable money in any account linked to the SIM, move it.

The only way your friends sim can be hacked is if he gives the guy his phone.. there is a code the guy will enter on your friends phone with his own number, viola the sim has been linked. I've done this before too.

Nothing happened to his line. The line wasn't hacked. It's was linked that the guy might able to receive data from him. He can't deactivate the line. I experienced it when I bought MTN mifi and I asked the vendor who sold data to me to check my data balance. So, to do so, the line must be linked to his to check balance which I later delinked the line myself. Stay cool, nothing happened to your line bro. Cheers!!

If you want to link another person's number to yours just collect the person's mobile phone. There is a particular ussd code you'll input into the person's phone with your own number. Viola.. you go dey recieve the persons call and text messages. And there is a code to unlink it back again.

He called MTN customer care, they told him there was a problem when he was linking his NIN, that is the reason why this guy is able to link his line to my friend's number, and now MTN cannot do anything unless he went to MTN outlet with his NIN details that they can do something. The airtime deducted by the guy has been converted to megabytes by the MTN to my friend.

If you know all these things why then saying the guy hacked the Sim as if it is that easy, I would've send you my line to give to the same guy for him to hack my own Sim na.
