But this is 2022 and the world has evolved.

Computer science. Engineering is more focused on the hardware aspect. Its better than other engineering courses but I will choose computer science if I had to make that choice.

Both courses are relevant in Naija. Choose anyone you have passion for.

I don't know about other schools, but in my school, Computer Engineering is basically Electrical and electronics engineering. Go for CS.

Computer Science is more difficult than Computer Engineering at least based on the Uni I studies and most of their courses are 2 credit unit.

Choose Computer Science. The world is more focused on software as a whole than hardware. You'd easily build digital software skills as you spend your 4 years learning rubbish.

The degree gives you an edge

It depends on the career path you want to take, I studied Computer Engineering and our curriculum cut through many programming languages from Java, C# etc. We also learnt computer networks (networking) and hardware maintenance but I feel in computer science they were only centred in software.

My opinion
If you want to have a diverse experience in your study please go for computer engineering but if you just want to major on software programming then go for computer science.
The choice is yours.

I would say they are about the same. Both study the programming fundamentals in their freshman and sophomore years
