“Stop Posting Dead People Online”. Angry Necrophobe Laments (video) by Penguin2(op):
Recently there seem to be a rise in people taking pictures and videos of uncovered dead people and posting same on the internet.

What these people forget is that not everyone can stand the picture or video of a corpse, myself inclusive. People like us are called Necrophobics.

So I stumbled on this video of a necrophobic addressing the ugly trend and felt it deserved a wider audience so that people who engage in the act can stop.

I don’t know if I am the only necrophobic on Nairaland but I want to believe I’m not.

I agree with that... A discretion warning should be put up to warn viewers.

I'd advocated for years for this to be banned on Nairaland ala Seun

The FG/National Assembly should by now have a law to prevent posting of images that cause distress, mangled bodies or whatnot.

You'll end up in jail in other countries for half the images that get uploaded here. I choose to often skip such threads.

Exactly!

Apps like Facebook and Instagram used to lock such pictures and ask you if you truly want to see such pictures as it might be graphic but I think they stopped and I don’t know why.

Personally, if I see a corpse, I might not recover from the shiver for hours.

It’s so troubling

The practice must continue, when it was the dead bodies of innocent Igbo youths shot to death on mere suspicion of belonging to ipob, the pictures were hailed here by all.

They must post Abba kyari dangling from a rope after being executed.

That is even an exception

What about those who deliberately take pictures of dead bodies in coffin or hospital beds?
