Jeromejnr:Well the last time I used nairaland last year was September, so “yall bashing him” is false. On April 2021, Russian troops were seen at Ukrainian borders, I couldn’t remember the podcasts and blogs I read about the possible wars, hence I quoted an article from a week ago. However, my point is, as far back as April, there were analysis of possible invasion of Ukraine and a resistance which would cause a war. So credit is universal, no man owns it. No “prophet” owns it, if it were to be a true statement, he would have made it since 2020 probably. Why did he wait for tensions to arise before copying peoples analysis? Think! |
Countries and leaders usually react to humiliation in one of two ways — aggression or introspection. After China experienced what it called a “century of humiliation” from the West, it responded under Deng Xiaoping by essentially saying: “We’ll show you. We’ll beat you at your own game.” When Putin felt humiliated by the West after the collapse of the Soviet Union and the expansion of NATO, he responded: “I’ll show you. I’ll beat up Ukraine.” Yes, it’s all more complicated than that, but my point is this: This is Putin’s war. He’s a bad leader for Russia and its neighbors. But America and NATO are not just innocent bystanders in his evolution. When a major conflict like Ukraine breaks out, journalists always ask themselves: “Where should I station myself?” Kyiv? Moscow? Munich? Washington? In this case, my answer is none of these. The only place to be for understanding this war is inside Russian President Vladimir Putin’s head. Putin is the most powerful, unchecked Russian leader since Stalin, and the timing of this war is a product of his ambitions, strategies and grievances. But, with all of that said, America is not entirely innocent of fueling his fires. How so? Putin views Ukraine’s ambition to leave his sphere of influence as both a strategic loss and a personal and national humiliation. In his speech on Monday, Putin literally said Ukraine has no claim to independence, but is instead an integral part of Russia, its people are “connected with us by blood, family ties.” Which is why Putin’s onslaught against Ukraine’s freely elected government feels like the geopolitical equivalent of an honor killing. Putin is basically saying to Ukrainians (more of whom want to join the European Union than NATO): “You fell in love with the wrong guy. You will not run off with either NATO or the E.U. And if I have to club your government to death and drag you back home, I will The Capital of Kiev is under attack as we type!!!
U day talented in writing rubbish |

DonAlexi:Mr man...stop being silly...he had been saying Russia was gonna be the main antagonist since last year to usher in the last war and "Nomerica" won't be able to stop them. Many times here he called Russia the bear that was prophesied in the bible to bring in the Gog war or whatever he called it. And yall bashed him. But now you close your eye and claim you never saw anything like that. Humans. |

Jeromejnr:I don't think so. He said the war is going to usher in the end of the world or something like that. Wars have been fought from the beginning of time and would be fought till the end. Wars don't mean the end of the world. |

malel1:Its about leadership. The current leaders of western world today are sissies and cowards. How can Russia be bold enough to challenge the rest of the world and they allow it? Even US with all their military and economic might can't dare the world, talk more of a poor developing country like Russia. Russia is a developing country with lots of her citizens hungry, jobless and underpaid despite having almost zero illegal immigrants due to their wickedness and racism. Many Russian girls are in South Korea doing prostitution to survive. They are also in many other western countries doing dirty jobs to survive because their country is broke. Having nuke or military wares doesn't make you powerful, do you have the economy might to wage and sustain war for years? If the west removes Russia from SWIFT they will be doomed yet they are waging senseless war of ego. I don't blame Putin, I blame spineless leaders like Pa Joe Biden and his fellow cowardly western leaders of today. Stalin couldn't dare it when Russia was a big robust USSR talk more of now. Its just about cowardly US and western leaders of today. And since they knew they are spineless why push Ukraine? They should have backed out from day one and not pushing innocent Ukraunian kids and women and aged to this heartbreaking death ![]() |
