When you organize a show around a star who fails to show up, the show will not only fail, but it might injure your brand. People may stop patronizing you, they may lose trust in you.

I know about two social directors who had to face students' wrath because a musician failed to show up for a show on campus. Their reputation were at stake. Only the direct associates knew the whole story, but the other students felt ripped off.

And one thing with flopped shows is that the organizers suffer more than a lose of money and a failed show. They may lose credibility.

Imagine a billionaire like Dangote asking you to help organize an event to boost grassroots soccer. You contract Mr P who fails to show up. The show flops, and you lose Mr Dangote's trust.

By losing Mr Dangote's trust, you may also lose his recommendations. That is, Mr Dangote will not recommend you to any of his associates who may want to organize events.
