Okay... you lost 2 years, it is not the end of the world... you were trying to enter school simply means you still have your WAEC results. Why don't you try getting a job with that? You need to start from somewhere.

Depending on your location, go to Facebook, look for job groups in your state. Join a group or several groups... tell them you need a job with accommodation. Describe the type of job you need, hotel, eatery, fast food etc. I want you to get a job with accommodation so that you can leave your current location to a new environment and that will save you transportation costs.

Obviously you were never convicted of the offense so, technically you are not an ex-convict. I will advise you relocate from your current station for a new life. Nigerians don't accept people back into the society easily, you need a total change of location, bif you asked me, relocation abroad even a country in Africa will be your best bet..... cool

Work on your looks , cut your hair and shave ,
2 , visit those who showed you concern and thank them, doesn't mean you should travel just around the hood and see friends .
3, get some presentable clothing
4 move to anywhere you can get your minial job , then earn for like a month
4, save and support your mum a little at least power bills then , fix your wardrobe , sub , body lotion and cologne
4, apply for a job you know you can handle and start a par time course , the rest is lengthy but being prudent and having endurance will earn you your degree you wish for ,

You are the shaper of your future, God has already gifted you life and skills create your own chances

Be grateful to God almighty you're finally out and accept Jesus into your life as your Savior and Lord.

Ask Him what it is you need from him at this point. You won't be disappointed.

As for what was done to you, I would have said get legal compensation. But look around you, this is Nigeria.

Why is no one angry by the fact that this young man was illegally detained for 2yrs?

Nigerians are used to such atrocity!

As for the police touts that keep doing such wickedness, curses and curses would continue to follow them.

The judiciary is very much aware of such terrible practice, but would do nothing decisive about it.

At 20 you still have a lot of opportunities ahead of you. You need to put the experience behind you and get busy with your life.
Try acquiring some digital/IT skills. You can start with your phone. Make Google and youtube your friends. You can do some labour work like you were doing before. Then save up money and buy a laptop then keep building your skills.

You people on social media can be very unrealistic sha. Where will a 20yrs old with no complete certificate or skilled get such work to take care of these bills you mentioned up there? Bro be realistic the country is so messed up, you hardly find it difficult to make 2k daily, and if you lucky to earn more daily, is either feeding or transport take half of the income. I know many who earn below 1k daily.

Op will forever be scared to work at %100 efficiently in this country, especially thinking about how he landed in prison in the first place, he’s likely to develop a phobia of associating as a result of his trauma.

My advice to him, do what ever gives you peace of mind and sense of belonging till God surprises you, don’t let anyone give one useless bearing that is not very realistic, wait on nature, God or anything you believe on, probably for a start up

Sorry for your predicament. You can go for photography training. At least for few months you will get the basic tech. Then from their you can be going out weekend to get field experience. I believe you can do this. At least every weekend you get something from events.
