USA did not invade cuba despite the fact cuba established relationship with SU. Castro nationlized assets of US citizens. US imposed sanctions . I wish Russia to have imposed sanctions instead of invading Ukraine.

Okay, brief history

1.The US did invade Cuba...in the late 19th century (Spanish American war. Spain lost. Cuba was one of the territories US picked up).

2.Cuba got independent, but stayed in the US sphere of influence (boils down to the Monroe doctrine...which states that everything happening in the Western hemisphere is US's problem....long story...).

3.Castro took over Cuba, then alligned Cuba with the Communist bloc in 1959-61

4.US authorized a CIA coup to overthrow Castro...the bay of Pigs invasion...in 1961. It failed.

The 1962 missile crisis...was basically Khruschev's way of telling Kennedy to back off. Plus there was a naval embargo...but it didn't stop the USSR from setting up shop in Cuba ( which was proven by spy planes).

Eventually the US and USSR came to a deal. Missiles off Cuba in return for missiles off Turkey pointed at moscow. Everyone went home...happy.

(The USSR maintained a base on Cuba till 1991)

Syria..US has not gone in there with troops...but the CIA is there. Meanwhile...Syria is a confused mess.

Iraq...No proof that Saddam was involved in 9/11 (He was involved in terrorisim, but that was back in the 1980's. Long tale)

Still, US seriously had no business invading them. And as Afghanistan shows, it was a waste anyway. (Iraq is heading into Iran's orbit now...)

At some point, if countries want freedom and equal rights, they have to work for it from within. (And yes, I hate saying that. But people don't like outsiders telling them what to do...even when it may be good for them)
