Russia’s ruble plunged nearly 30 per cent against the dollar Monday after world powers imposed fresh, harsher sanctions on Moscow over its invasion of Ukraine.

The ruble was indicated to be down 27 per cent at 114.33 per dollar in offshore trading, according to Bloomberg News.

The United States and European Union said they would exclude some Russian banks from the international bank payments system SWIFT and personally targeted Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. They also banned all transactions with Russia’s central bank

Meanwhile, the G7 nations — Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Britain and the United States — warned they would “take further steps” to add to the sanctions already announced if Russia did not cease its operation.

I think it's even nice the west didn't send their troop there...strong Sanctions then follow it up with military equipment support for Ukraine! Ukraine is doing a great job...it will be hard for Russia to fall Kiev

Putin has said times and times again that if any country interferes, he will teach them a lesson they will never forget and Russia is not all about winning but sending a message.

Our prayer is that it doesn't go further than this.

If it does, those still touting good economies will fall into chaos by the time full war break out in that hemisphere. It won't be only Rus that will be hurt.

That reminds me of the new year prophecy this year that people should move their funds to digital assets. We don't know what's coming yet.

Enough of all this Russia/Ukraine war. People are dying in the ongoing Northeast war, northwest banditry, IPOB madness and Ethiopia at the horn of Africa. I mean hundred of thousands deaths. What have we done, no discussion,no wide media publicity etc.
