Cleaning is definitely not part of the scope of work for Pop workers. That's meant for the cleaners.

However, you can respectfully request them to clean up for you, before or after you've given the job.

Diverting poor Labour's balance after they've completed your job, just because they didn't clean up the site for you, is really not a kind thing to do sir.✓

Personally i don't like dirts. From my first day on a project, I make available a trash bag for my workers to use in order not litter the environment.

Talking About POP stains, which are unavoidable but can definitely be minimised with some measures, I'd reiterate again "it's not the job of pop workers to clean up the stains for you, but you can respectfully request them to help".
Dirts or stains: it's advisable to spell out the terms & objectives of a contract/job/work before you give it, so as to avoid arguments.

The common Nigerian behaviour: you will see someone eating snacks in his car & he will wind down just to throw the nylon or trash whatever on the road!!! So many examples of such disgusting habits.

But I believe you can bring people up to your standard & make them learn certain things or give terms on how they can work with you perfectly.

I will negotiate with my tiler to clean cement paste on tiles with packing of broken tiles after a day work.

I will renegotiate with my plumber to clean all cement paste and silicon sealant on bathroom appliance after a day work

The NairaLanders that have worked at my site can attest to cleanliness and cleanup being part of the negotiation.

It’s doubly important to me because I already live onsite and have two Dobermans.

It’s not about cheating but adhering to the agreed upon scope of work.

There is no POP craze here. Just clean smooth finish. No organic or symmetric designs. Just clean flat finish with plasterboard as we call it.

What happened?

The ex contractor left the site with waste and all that, then the roofer/carpenter came to add theirs.

Being that I was not always around, I decided to ask for a video of the environment. Discovered everythwhere was messed up.

I'm grateful the plumber, ACguy and electrician didn't add theirs.

Imagine paying ₦15k to clean when we haven't even plastered.

Lets learn to stand out in our various professions by adding that extra touch to our expertise.
