The Canadian High Commissioner, Kevin Tokar and a crew of Canadian sailors visited the Oshodi area in Lagos on Tuesday, where they participated in a chess tournament with some children.

Founder of the Chess In Slums Africa initiative, Tunde Onakoya, revealed this via his verified Twitter page on Tuesday.

He said, “On this day in history, the Canadian High Commission visited Oshodi under-bridge.

“We received the Canadian High Commissioner, Kevin Tokar and eight sailors from the HMCS Goose Bay-a Kingston class patrol ship in the Royal Canadian Navy led by Commander Daniel Rice”.

The CISA is a non-profit organisation that uses the game of chess to help youngsters in slum communities realise their full potential through chess training. Its activities are geared towards rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

If we have more of this kind of program, the world willl soon become a better place for all....
With so much money in the world, Russia spending so much on the war EU amd Us dolling out so much for an issue that they can peace out on....they are now wasting that much when some countries are in poverty.
But they prefer to waste that money than to give out as charity

maybe while playing chess , they should ask the Canadians about the recent story of how Canadian police use their dog to attack African man on whom they were sent to do welfare check, and when he fought back against the dog they shot him dead, then called ambulance for the dog leaving the mans body there for 8 hours.

When Nigerians in Canada are weeping from abuse by Canadians , African youth are playing chess with Canadian military, cause african life is cheap as dirt in the ground.
