N2B2:
If his performance works seamlessly for the film, why the nitpicking? Did you expect Battison to rip off his shirt & sparkle in the sun again?
First and foremost, have you seen it?

If you haven't, how do you even know what you're talking about? Or are you a DC bot whose sole purpose is to reject all criticism, regardless of how reasonable it is?

If you have seen it, then I feel compelled to remind you of a little thing called personal opinion. It would be inane to accept it as gospel truth.

Furthermore, a little constructive criticism is okay. Aversion to criticism suffocates creativity and innovation.

On the scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate it?
I prefer star based rating system, and I'd give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.

VerifiedStalin, why so serious? Is it over 2 simple questions? Hilarious.

Okay, let's address your, um, complaints.

VerifiedStalin:
First and foremost, have you seen it?
Yes. Twice.

If you haven't, how do you even know what you're talking about? Or are you a DC bot whose sole purpose is to reject all criticism, regardless of how reasonable it is?
You posted a movie review on a public forum and got questioned about one of the many criticisms you had: how's that "rejecting all criticism?"

If you have seen it, then I feel compelled to remind you of a little thing called personal opinion. It would be inane to accept it as gospel truth.
I didn't; that's why I asked you two simple questions. What's inane is getting emotional over simple questions about your expectations.

Furthermore, a little constructive criticism is okay.
Apparently, simple questions are not.

Aversion to criticism suffocates creativity and innovation.
Talk more of an aversion to simple questions. Oh, the irony!

The Batman (2022)

Very aesthetically pleasing; granted, the graininess is a bit unconventional, but you get used to it pretty quickly.

The fight scenes are well-crafted and enjoyable to watch. There are no large-scale CGI battles, just fabulously choreographed combats, and a glorious car chase scene. The sound effects are also impressive; you can feel the impact of every punch.

The mood is noir-esque, like I imagined. I liked how they took a more detective approach and didn't necessarily hold the viewer's hand in terms of clues and exposition. The film as a whole is a gritty and grimy portrayal of how a modern-day Riddler would operate, and Paul Dano plays him superbly.

The pacing is choppy, and the three-hour runtime is a bit excessive. Some scenes got way too much attention, while others didn't. In my opinion, the third act's second half could have been handled more gracefully.

 Positives:
• Visually pleasing
• Noir mystery
• Impressive action sequences.
• Worldbuilding.
• Commendable performances, with special shout-out to Collin Farrell.
•The direction is very competent and professional.
• The soundtrack slaps
• Humour.

 Negatives
• Pacing and length issues.
• Robert Pattinson not given room for variety. His performance is relatively one-dimensional. It works for the film and the story it was trying to tell, but I was expecting something more profound, given his talent.

Overall, I liked it, but I think my expectations were a little too high. "The Dark Knight (2008)" remains the undisputed leader for the time being, with this one falling somewhere between #4 and #10. I'll have to watch it again to fully grasp bits I may have missed.
Humour? Nice to know

Meanwhile, some useless MCU critics were down voting this movie for lack of humour?

Must everything be a joke to these people? This is why I don't take RT critics seriously

The movie had humour, anyone who criticised it for lack of humour should go watch a comedy flick.

Ironic considering you were the one that got defensive over a seemingly innocuous observation.

N2B2:
You posted a movie review on a public forum and got questioned about one of the many criticisms you had: how's that "rejecting all criticism?"
It's not so much about the questions as it is about the defensive/aggressive manner in which you asked them, chief.

N2B2:
I didn't; that's why I asked you two simple questions. What's inane is getting emotional over simple questions about your expectations
Emotional? I'm not easily moved. I'm half serious the majority of the time, I mean, it's my schtick, heck, my username is a satire. I felt obligated to call you to order because your questions were so out of place and idiotic.

N2B2:
Apparently, simple questions are not.
You keep going on about the "simple questions" but all I got was a couple of room temperature IQ questions that had nothing to do with the film. Go figure.

N2B2:

And here we go again with the merry go round of "simple questions", lol.

She can be attractive and skinny at the same time; the two are not mutually exclusive.

The humour is subtly delivered and shows up in unexpected situations/places. It's of the high-brow variety, so it might be lost on some. The penguin (Colin Farrell) provided the bulk of the laughs.

Well written review but I'm still trying to understand how you ended up watching a movie you claimed would be borefest flop before everyone else

I was just fooling around, chief. A little trolling here and there keeps the world turning. grin

I do like trolling the DC bots here because I recognize their strong aversion to criticism, but after all is said and done, I've a strong affinity for both DC and Marvel due to my background as a comic book fan.

You've got to save some face here, my man. Getting combative over two simple—yes, simple—isn't a good look for ya.

It's not so much about the questions as it is about the defensive/aggressive manner in which you asked them, chief.
My apologies. Here, I toned down the "aggression" and added a sprinkle of courtesy:

[My dear VerifiedStalin], if his performance worked seamlessly for the film, why nitpick? Did you (& pardon me for asking) expect Battison to rip off his shirt & sparkle in the sun again?

Will you answer the questions now? cheesy

Is this coming from an era-defining genius critic weeping over two questions about his review? Ha! grin

Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by Minemrys(op): 8:12am On Mar 05, 2022
So some guy reviewed The Batman, and critiqued Battinson's acting as being one dimensional, and the pacing of the movie for being too long and stuff.

Wait, was the movie even 3 hours? Felt like a 60 mins episode. The transitions went well and there were no unnecessary scenes. Each scene showed the characters better. This is one movie where I actually liked the Batman character, uh sorry, he wasn't really Batman till the end. He was just Vengeance.

About Robert's acting. Someone who watched the movie should know it was well explained. There was just one character played by Battinson, and it was Vengeance. There was no Bruce Wayne. And we saw Batman towards the end.

Obviously some people should get into modelling. They draw attention better in that.
Am still waiting for the movie to bomb though. And yes, I was wrong, the movie brought something new to the table that other bat films haven't.

If he could transform Riddler into one of the best Batman villains in live action, imagine what he could do with freeze

Imagine the possibilities!

Imagine the film failed, he will go, yeah, I told you in my analysis that it will fail. But right now, it was a joke, a troll. Mtcheww.
