Not really, but he can determine to save 10k (note: emphasis on determine).

The truth is our needs/bills will always rise to meet our incomes. So saving has to be deliberate, its a sacrifice or maybe discipline.

With N600 you can acquire two meals per day in Lagos (despite high standard of living compared with other states excluding Abuja, PH). Even if it means not adding meat/fish to one's meal sometimes.
Mind you, it's only temporal.

Look, I'm neither saying the 10k would be sufficient nor give him total comfort. Certainly, there would be some distress, but once you learn to get along... your system adjust and it gets easy/normal.

Saving isn't easy, but we got to do it, as one of the basic ways out of economic hardships to start with anywhere.
