Good!!!

Proverbs 13:22: A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous. In God's book, a good man thinks generationally. He does not just prepare for his children's future, but for his grandchildren's.

Lies! (wrong use of the passage)

Prosperity preachers have so messed up the Word that we their followers have even lost sight of the goal.

That passage has nothing to do with physical wealth, but stored up wealth which is the graces and blessings of God.

So our politicians are good men for diverting the nations wealth right?

TheFinance101:
It’s the first week of the month and your salary has finished. Why? If you can’t comprehensively answer that question then this post is for you.

Your salary or income is what most determines your lifestyle. Being able to manage your money effectively can be the difference in how and when you achieve financial freedom. If you are struggling with managing money, here’s how you can build a money routine that will ensure you meet your financial goals.

1. Track your spending
The first step to managing your salary wisely is to know where every cent is going. Keep an eye on how much you’re spending and for what, especially when it comes to personal expenses.

Make use of tracking apps, spreadsheets or even a book and pen if that’s what works for you, but you should be able to account for every penny of your paycheck.

2. Stick to your budget
Budgeting is the baseline of all financial planning. It helps you stay in control of your money and allows you to keep a track of your expenses.

Plan for every expense carefully; whether it’s the 50-30-20 or 70-20-10 budgeting rule you intend to use, make a budget and stick to it.

3. Pay Off Debts
Another step to managing your salary wisely is to include a provision to pay off existing debt on time. It should be a priority when planning your salary.

Debt can be a heavy burden on your personal finances. You should consider paying them off as soon as possible once you start to generate a steady revenue stream.

4. Invest in what works for you
Besides an emergency fund, you should set aside some of your income towards investing for the future. You can start small while you figure out what option works best for you.

Depending on your age and your financial goals, create an investment plan and build a diversified portfolio to secure your future.

5. Treat yourself wisely
It's important to leave room for some of your wants to stay on track. If you don’t, you’ll be discouraged and eventually give into the pressure to splurge unnecessarily.

Just remember to keep it simple. If you want to buy yourself a gift, it should be budgeted for. Planning for your future doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your happiness in the present.

6. Automate your finances
Putting your money on autopilot is a really great way to successfully stick to your budget and financial goals. You can sign up for automatic debits or set up bill pay with your bank.

Do this for your savings, investments and bill payments to ensure they are paid on time. Make necessary adjustments occasionally to ensure everything is going as planned.

Final Thoughts
The biggest favour you can do yourself is to smartly manage your money once your salary is paid. To live a comfortable life, implement these habits to make it easy for you to manage money.

If you're still single...

Regardless how much you're earning. Start saving atleast 50-70% of your income, nothing less.

Just live within your means with the other 30-50%. That's a penny for my thought if you're wise.

Then you can invest... when the time comes. But first save that income!
Re: How To Manage Your Salary Wisely by Nobody: 7:51pm On Mar 02, 2022
In these harsh times we are in, most people salaries can barely take them home. I for one still recommend having multiple streams of income. Nothing beats that. Having to rely on one source of income is like sitting on a one legged chair most especially if the salary is in the range of 5 digits. Always endeavor to live below your means. Imbibe a healthy savings and investment culture. angry

No matter how big your salary is it won't be enough if you don't have a passive income. High-income skills pays you more than your salary. Copywritting for example is the highest paying skills if you master it very well. I train people how to use copywriting to make some money. I'm starting another training program this month the tuition fee is just 1k the benefits are : you will get free Access to course videos worth over 20k , you will get free access to one of the largest copywriting library, you will be taught how to make your first 100k from copywriting. You can contact me on whatsapp to enroll for the training 08036869211.

Yes, you can save. If you earn 30k and you can't save, if you earn 100k, you can't save still.
You should be able to save no matter how small your salary.

If you are earning 20k instead of the 30k you mentioned, won't you look for ways to manage it for the month?
Ofcourse you will, so why can't you save 10k from the 30k and manage the remaining 20k and assume that's your salary?

There are some people earning less than that and they are not dead. Don't you know?

See, I'm not saying 30k is a good pay considering the economic situation of Nigeria.
Even 100k monthly is not enough but what I'm trying to say is that, no matter how low you earn, you can still save if you want to.

I know of someone who was earning 25k as salary in 2017.
When others were complaining that the pay was too small, he saved 8k per month and was able to gather like 105k in 13months.

He resigned from the job in June 2018 and started pure water business. He got a shop very close to a busy area where there is always traffic congestion and was selling cold pure water.
Though some guys used to hawk for him while he paid them.
6months later,he added table water, then drinks.

In 2020, he bought a bike (okada) for someone to ride and pay him in installments.
He has 2 bikes now and he is still doing the pure water business.

Where do you expect to see this kind of person in another 5 years?

If you want to achieve something and you know you have nobody to assist you, you will need to apply wisdom in everything you do.

Nobody will give you kobo, you go and earn it yourself.
No one will push you to do things, you do them yourself.

Only if your were born with silver spoon in your mouth that you expect things to be done for you.

Life is tough

First of all...

I must admit...this is a really creditable post.

Thanks for sharing.

2nd...

To those who are saying 'its for those earning 500k and above per month band not for 20k People'...

This is where the 'planning and budgeting' he's suggesting comes in place.

Plan your expenses within the 20k...and try as much to save even if it's just 2k per month.

If you set your mind to it...you will see that it's actually achievable.

Of course it's hard to save with the current hike in prices of goods...

And this is where your savings comes to help you.

Even you've been saving 2k per month already...it will definitely come in handy.

But if you're someone who spends all the 20k...you see say that one na double wahala.

And also...the best advice there is to invest your savings or part of your salary into something that can bring you extra income.

Relying only on your salary as a source of income is not the way.

This is coming from a Nigerian to Nigerian..

It's not.

Look for Businesses you can do as a side hustle while still doing your Normal day to day job.

And with the aid of the internet...there are plenty one can do.

Affiliate Marketing
Freelancing
Information Publishing
Amazon KDP - Publishing books on Amazon to sell.

I'm into Affiliate Marketing and I started with a month's salary.

It's gone one to provide me a really good source of income alongside my salary job.

It's just an advice tho...

No need to attack it.

Take it or leave it.

But I'm sure investing part of your money into something Profitable and reliable is something everyone should do.

..and of course...

Self Investment is the best kind of investment.

Not oil or agro investment...you're more likely to fall for scammers there.

But invest in yourself to learn a business or a skill is one thing you can never regret as long as you commit to Learning it.

Peace....!!
