I hope an airport hotel is built on the grounds of the airport. Such an airport would be especially useful for passengers on international flights, who wouldn’t want to go into town immediately after a long journey.

In the future, Air Peace, in addition to setting up an MRO at the airport, could launch international flights to destinations such as Dubai, Shanghai, Jo’burg, or seasonal flights to Houston (which has a sizable Igbo population).

Absolutely! For the airport to become a true international hub, an international standard airport hotel needs to be located within the airport for passengers on long lay overs or those who have midnight flights to arrive and wait at the hotel for some hours before their flight.

A standard international airport hotel within the airport will enhance the suitability and ease of using this airport for both Nigerians and foreigners.

Our prayers are that the youths will learn that farming (whether it is bitter leaf, fisheries, tomatoes, yam, Efi Igbo, poultry, etc) is a great untapped source of wealth than the elusive yahoo business. Where they never make any money because everyone around the world now knows about the "Nigerian prince" emails.

Learn when government use them and set them up at Upper Iweka with sticks and stones as IGR collectors?

Nothing particular about Anambra. Air Peace is also advertising in other airports that same way. What they mean is that you fly from Anambra or any other domestic airport and connect to their Dubai flight from Lagos to Dubai the same day. It requires a lot of logistics so that their planes from other local destinations land in Lagos, they then load and continue to Dubai.

I am really looking forward to the day Air Peace or any other airline will fly our business people direct from Anambra to Dubai, Shanghai, India or even London and USA.

Politics is played not earned.

Last Anambra governorship election, the APC candidate was finished with all forms of rhetorics from Fulani party to he will sale us to Hausa Fulani, there will be insecurity ( I wonder if what is happening in anambra now is security wise).

If APC zoned presidency to west that is simple logic they have been voting for APC and Fulani had never taken over their lands likewise Insecurity hasn't overwhelmed them.

If you need Presidential ticket go to PDP or let APGA present a presidential candidate that won't sale you all to Hausa Fulani.

Nonsense and Ingredient.

Divine Rays British School Obosi, Anambra State, to the world

By Ejike Anyaduba

Divine Rays British School, Obosi has added to the honour list of academic excellence in Anambra state.
The school founded by the Director of the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke, and Parish Priest of Blessed Iwene Tansi Catholic Church, Umudioka, both in Anambra State, Reverend Father Emmanuel Obimma (Ebube One Touch) has won the national Diamond Challenge competition put together by Diamond Challenge of the University of Delaware, Dover, United States of America. The competition named Horn Entrepreneurship was created in 2012 by University of Delaware to offer teens unique opportunity to learn entrepreneurship by putting their ideas into practice.
The competition challenges them to unleash their creative energy towards advancing the world technology.

The competition was won by DRBS trio of Master Elvis Ugochukwu, Miss Jennifer Onyejiego and Master Anthony Maduka. The brilliant three who conceived and created a Battery that stores and converts carbon dioxide (CO2) from automobiles, petroleum factories, incinerators, etc to electricity and reduces environmental pollution, beat all other competitors to take the first position and will represent Nigeria in the US.
The project which qualified them for the national final had numerous other competitors across the country. In the end, DRBS, Obosi, Anambra state won the competition and will represent Nigeria at the Global Submit in University of Delaware, Dover, USA.

Runners up at the national final were Mater Ambilis Secondary School, Umuoji (First runner up),Anambra state, Caleb British International School Lekki, Lagos, African Church Model School, Lagos, Vetland Senior Grammar School, Iju senior Grammar School, Lagos, among others.
DBRS has joined the league of champions who brought honour to Anambra State in particular and Nigeria in general.
Recall that DRBS established by the charismatic Fr. Obimma has won strings of academic excellence within its short period of existence. The winners will be leaving for the US any time soon.

Coming Soon: Soludo's One Million High Yielding Palm Seedlings.

Currently, 84% of global palm oil supply is shared between Indonesia and Malaysia. Nigeria, Columbia and others make up the remaining percentage. United States, China, India, EU and Pakistan are the biggest off takers. The global market value is 61.1 billion USA dollars. Apart from getting back to once again be a global player in this industry, Cee Cee Soludo wants to use the free distribution of high yielding Palm Seedlings to lift many households/farmers from the stranglehold of poverty.

Soludo is guided in this by his belief that our greatness lies in our rich past. He is therefore picking up the pieces from where Dr. Michael Okpara's administration stopped and his eyes are firmly focused on the entire value chain. So every year, his government will procure one million high yielding farm seedlings and distribute same free of charge to 100,000 farmers/households. Each farmer gets 10 free seedlings that start producing from 2- 4 years. It is estimated that in 4 years, the farmer would have gotten about 40 seedlings. This will adequately enable such household/farmer to escape from poverty. This will be an empowerment programme not just for the farmers but thousands that will be involved in the value chain business.

Fortunately, palm oil demand continues to grow because it is the most versatile of all vegetable oils. Palm can be processed to a wide range of products with melting points, consistencies and characteristics. Global conglomerates such as Lever Brothers are noteable off takers of the products at the corporate level.

The good news is that Soludo is rapidly demonstrating by his actions thus far that sound economics is excellent politics. So like the Anambra footwear industry, like the palm oil industry. More are coming our way as we journey to our Liveable and prosperous Anambra smart Megacity.

Be of good cheers!!

N224M Debt: Why Nnewi Catholic Diocese Decided To Take Over Building Of Cathedral From Senator Ifeanyi Ubah

Fresh facts have emerged on the real reasons why Nnewi Catholic Diocese decided to take over the building of Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral Okwuani, Nnewi, which was believed to be single-handedly built by Sen

It will be recalled that Anaedoonline.ng earlier last week broke the news of the call of the New Bishop of Nnewi Catholic Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Jonas Benson Okoye who called on Catholic faithfuls within and beyond the Diocese to join hands towards the completion of the Cathedral.

Fresh facts have emerged that the decision of Bishop Benson was largely because of the indebtedness of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah to the Catholic Diocese of Nnewi, who is currently owing the Diocese over N200M.

Anaedoonline.ng learnt that Senator Ifeanyi Ubah is yet to refund the Diocese an estimated sum of N224M which Senator Ubah sanctioned the Diocese to spend in the building of the Cathedral, at different stages when he was not financially stable.

Giving a detailed explanation, a member of the Cathedral Building Committee who pleaded for anonymity for the fear of victimization said that the claim that Senator Ubah is single-handedly building the cathedral is false.

According to him, the Catholic Diocese of Nnewi has spent over N200M in the construction of the Cathedral at different stages when Senator Ubah appealed to the Diocese that he had financial challenges, he revealed that although Senator Ubah promised to refund the Diocese the money, he is yet to do that till date.

Giving a historical background on how the building started he said, “When our former Bishop, His Lordship, Most Rev. Hilary Paul Odili Okeke, started the move to renovate the Cathedral, the Founder of Cutix Cables PLC, Chief Dr. Ajulu Uzodike was appointed as the Chairman of the Cathedral Building Committee, a lot of prominent members of Catholic Diocese of Nnewi made donations, which run into millions”.

The day Ifeanyi Ubah came, instead of making his own donation, we were surprised when he said that he will demolish the Cathedral and build a new one under seven (7) months. The Bishop called him to ascertain whether he was serious, he told the Bishop that he is more than financially capable of building the Cathedral.

“Some prominent Catholics and even the Chairman of the Building Committee, Chief Ajuju Uzodike told the Bishop that he was not comfortable with the move, and advised the Bishop against accepting the offer, but the Bishop felt that Ifeanyi Ubah was capable of doing that, and gave express approval for the demolition of the Cathedral”

“After months of several delays, he started the building at a slow pace. To cut the story short, in 2017, when Ifeanyi Ubah was about to contest Anambra Governorship election, Bishop Odili Okeke called him and told him about his desire to ensure that the Cathedral is completed before his retirement, he informed Ifeanyi Ubah that he have barely five (5) years to retire and it will look embarrassing if the Cathedral is not completed before his retirement, Ifeanyi Ubah told the Bishop that he was not financial buoyant that if the Diocese had some money, they should put it into the project, that he will surely refund the Diocese later, the Bishop being compassionate started approving some money for the project from the account of the Diocese”

Speaking further, he said, “When this started, when money each was to be spent, Ifeanyi Ubah will be informed, as usual, he will give approval and promise that he will refund the money. This continued till date, although at some point he will pay in some money, but he is still owing the Diocese over N200M, which is still in the record of the Diocese”
“In 2020, when it was clear that Ifeanyi Ubah was no longer committed in completing the Cathedral, Bishop Okeke started making appeal to individuals to ensure that at least the Cathedral is roofed before his exit, individuals like Chief Cletus Ibeto, Chief Innocent Chukwuma (Innoson), Chief Sir. Louis Izuchukwu Carter Onwugbenu and many others made donations, that was why the Cathedral was roofed and the Cathedral alter built”

On why the Diocese decided to take over the completion of the Diocese, he said, “When Most Rev. Dr. Jonas Benson Okoye took over from Bishop Okeke, he was informed about the debt of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, he said that he was not interested that his desire was to ensure that the Cathedral is completed before the next twelve (12) months, hence the need for everyone to join hands to complete the Diocese, but it must be made know that it was the Diocese that was building the Cathedral, not an individual”

Speaking further, he said that he was surprised why Ifeanyi Ubah will keep saying that he was the one building the Cathedral when he fully know that he is not and he is even owing the Diocese if he was actually building the Cathedral. He advised the Distinguished Senator to desist from smearing the name of Bishop Benson, who he said is not as soft as Bishop Okeke, who condoned the lies and deceit of Ifeanyi Ubah who is currently representing Anambra South Senatorial District.

He however called on Catholic faithfuls to give the necessary support to the new Bishop who he said is determined to see to the completion of the Cathedral.
