I currently own the 2003 Acura MDX and the fuel consumption, to me, is crazy. I am so particular about fuel efficiency and I don't do so much of highway/interstate travel really. I need advice on 4 cylinder SUVs that make sense ( 2004-2010)

Rav4 and Highlander.

Almost every other Naija regular SUV comes in 6cylinder from Lexus, Hyundai, Honda products

Toyota prado 2.7L is a 4 cylinder SUV.
Try it.

Since you are used to the acura then i recommend the honda crosstour 4cyl version. Its fuel efficiency is top notch for a suv

Crosstour isn't an SUV.

Cheaper to keep her, spend N3m to save 7 mpg will take a long time

If what you mean by SUV is something with high ground clearance then go for.

Highlander
Rav4
Ford escape (4 cylinder version)

If you want a stone crawler, go for Nissan Xterra with 4 cylinder engine

Hyundai Tucson
Kia Sportage
Toyota Tav4
Honda CRV
Nissan Rogue
Nissan "Qashqai"
Mitsubishi Outlander
Honda Element (Not SUV but practical)
Ford Escape 4 cylinder
Toyota Highlander 4 cylinder
Volkswagen Tiguan (if you have balls)

I'd however recommend the Acura RDX.
