I know of a guy who openly told me he hacked somebody's bet9ja account with over 300k in the account because the guy lose guarded his phone, he used the money there to play games till he boosted the money to over 6 million and added his own account and withdrew the funds.


Everybody get red eyes like this, keep your gadgets save and tightly encrypted.

I was intending to go retrieve my line on Monday but on Sunday I decided to access my email using another phone only to find out my account has been cleared without leaving a single dime.

I called Access bank customer service who confirmed my fears.....I asked them if I can have details of the account the monies were transferred to they told me it's not traceable as the transaction was a cardless withdrawal using POS....I don't understand how possible it is for the transaction not to be traceable, how cardless transaction can be initiated without pin or otp,is it possible for sim lock to be bypassed......I am still confused.

Please what could have happened in this case and how can I go about it?

. Boy, there's cardless withrawal with pos. Even zenith Bank has cardless withrawal with ATM, but it's not every ATM that carries it. Technology advancement.

Oga go to the bank and tell them dey need to give u a valid reason how your money left your account.....tell them you are not leaving till they sort it out.......
Don't tell them you lost your phone oo....tell them you opened your email and saw the transaction that you didn't authorise

The bank will return your money ...its their duty to protect your money and dey are Insured so make sure dey give you your money

Also tell them dey will hear from your lawyer if dey are yarn g trash

Yes, there is cardless withdrawal. But an otp will be sent to your linked bank account phone number. After receiving the code, the POS operator will input the code into his/her POS terminal and your account will be debited.

I don't know if this story is true

Because I personally called MTN inquiring if a Sim lock could prevent any third party from tampering with my account in case my phone gets stolen.

And they clearly told me "YES."

POS transactions are traceable, all numbers are unique and that is for a fact......

Every POS transaction can be traced to the machine that was used in doing it. The machines are registered in someone or an organization's name and address.
Banks telling you that they can't be traced aren't being truthful. Banks cover this frauds, they are reluctant to stress themselves. But let it be a case that EFCC or police fraud unit wants to pursue and you see them nab the person with ease.

Banks are not helping matters in this fraud issue because they like to cover the perpetrators.
They are reluctant to do their job.

This is what happened. You've been under surveilance. It's a bank scam syndicate. They've been watching your every moves. They knew the content of your account and bankers are heavily involved. It happened to a woman of my church, her phone got missing in her church and 800k was wiped off her account. They know you, where you live and where you go. They're your bank. Only they can do it.

I don't know how many times we need to educate people on this your surest bet is not your phone cos it can be unlocked but your sim card .

Open account with a bank with better Cyber security system. They were just smarter fraudsters. Such loophole should be detected and closed.

Even if u can trace POS, will u arrest the person for doing his or her business? We the person be asking who is the owner of ATM before using it or what?

Keeping money in the bank now is at owners risk,if banks can't track this type of fraud then what is the essences of putting your money in the bank.

OP I am trying to get a hold of how this fraud was carried out .

My first suspicion would be the location you said you were coming from.Could it be that someone close to you took the phone at that location and the person knows the password for your banking transactions.

Or could it be you thought your sim and phone was encrypted with so many passwords meanwhile maybe your phone had rebooted itself or done a factory reset


What could it be? My brain is hot I cant think straight. Sorry for your loss.However your bank should atleast make a move to assist you trace the fraudster.
