You know... Protest is a way of the public to express their stances. Protest keeps administrations on its toes. It's a right in democracy and it's a power of the people. It draws international attention.

This particular issue concerns this govt. The crime happened in a govt property. From indications, it appears that the govt is trying to cover something up.

Trying to prevent any protest at all is just crazy!
But for now the driver has been arrested, and investigations is still ongoing to apprehend all those involved, either directly or indirectly in the murder of the young lady. Let's wait for the outcome. Thanks "Damosky"

Is it that you lack home training or you are just not so smart?

Is there no way to make your points without name-calling? How does an independent post on a faceless forum warrant such a crude response?

Left to Social Media Court, that driver would have been Convicted & Executed by now.
But we need to allow proper investigations to be carried out by the police to establish facts & not sentiments.

But I think the driver was held at gunpoint by the rapists/ritualist/robbers. If he was part of the hoodlums, they most likely would not have allowed the lady to make calls & send info about the BRT.

But he is definitely culpable for not calling the police after the incident (though knowing our police, many of us would have done same under similar circumstances)
But it is suspicious that he asked her to move to the back seat on an empty bus, why? Especially that he showed interest in her so why place her far away from his seat? I know his type he's a seasoned criminal and he didn't know she was making a video. Jungle justice should be loading by now. If I'm Bamise's relative I will ensure that the drivers mother, father, siblings, children or wife must pay dearly with a painful death. All they need do is observe whoever follows him to court and trace them home from there then ensure you butcher them and send pictures to the animal in jail

Exactly. Lagos state government should be held liable for this crime. Lagos state is the employer and should be responsible for the crime committed by their employee .

No two ways about all these traditional effects, yes it is a tradition by this lead administration to kill justice and let it slide.

Since 1999, it as been like this and nothing can be done unless we go back to its roots that is the foundation. The current structure allows anything and that is why the country is kept runed to the fool by this politician's. This structure as fail and it can only be more worse come 2023, no country as ever prospered either without a great leader or a popular revolt.

boys should just invade where he was kept no need for protest or burning anything

just invade the station he was kept and break his head alive then wait for him to confess with his blood flowing on his head, follow him to his accomplice house, if you know meet them pick any of their blood family member, give them jungle justice then justice is defined

waiting for Lagos state govt to prosecute that driver will stain that brt and people might have distrust for the rest, that's why they're trying to exonerate him

imagine a lagos state employee, someone that identify with LASG is caught in such inhumane act, if LASG will be sincere, public prosecution of that idiot will tense problems cooking, Ironsi inability to prosecute the coupist publicly is the Genesis of civil war

if this guy is caught by mob 25litres of petrol from me.

My heart goes out to the mother and the entire family of the slain damsel, however the protest is totally uncalled for at this stage, given the fallout of the previous protest. The truth is no government will allow such a protest to be held because of the uncertain end of such. I'll passionately advice the organizers of the said protest, to sheath their swords for now and monitor the case. Thankfully, the driver has been apprehended, they should get involved via every legal means available to prosecute the case against the driver and get justice for the family, that's the best solidarity they can give to the family.
I swear people like you should not be living with us humans, protest is fundamental human right, and if that's how the populace want to mourn, it's okay. I will make sure I pray everyday for the evil human being like you in Nigeria, to have same thing that you support and that happened to innocent people happen to you, and no one will mourn you and the criminals will be left free just like you wish and support the criminals

Let's be temperate and reasonable.

Protest is a right in democracy. That the driver has been arrested is no proof that justice is taking its course. Protest is a means to hear the public out.

If there is a mistrust that they'd burn brt busses out, the security can simply go and protect the brt stations or other govt properties. Alternatively, they can export them while they protest to enforce order. Not prevent people from making their grievances known and speaking to the press.

Let's not play partisan politics to the neglect of human feelings. The baby lion you tolerate now may be big enough to harm you when it grows...
well govt have a duty to ensure there's is calm... That u have right to protest others have right for a peaceful environmental the protest is uncalled... They never knew she contacted her friends already.
Why would a brt bus light be switched off at night?
Why didn't he carry another passenger beside the perpetrators?
Why was the body found after alarm was raised which was three days after?
this foolish man worked the second day of the event
Go and twitter and read her friends story
What is her friends twitter handle?

Why not. This government is evil. Such a young lady wasted by those that supposed 2 protect her. Lagos state and ogun state is not safe at all.
Re: Bamise Ayanwole: Soldiers, Police Take Over Ojota Park Over Planned Protest by justmi1: 11:28am On Mar 08, 2022
If the government is sensitive enough, they should deploy men without arms, and allow the protest while thorough investigation is ongoing, because we can't rule out the possibility of hijacking the protest and making it political.
It's quite unfortunate, that even government managed transportation is not safe.

Let's be very careful and vigilant; recently in lagos I ordered uber, I tried to call the number of the driver given on the app, it was switched off. Soon someone called me with another number that he is the driver, I became suspicious, then he called again that he has arrived with a lexus jeep and against the corolla described in the app. That his other vehicle broke down. I japa for my life.

Always follow your instinct; God help us all

Bringing partisan politics into a reasonable submission is rather naive. I haven't spoken as a politician. The post doesn't root for anyone. The grouse is pellucid enough. Anyone with simple comprehension skills should be able to sift it.

Is the right to protest guaranteed in a democracy? Yes.

Can the government ensure that the protest doesn't degenerate into chaos? Yes!

Did the leaders of this administration enjoy the right to protest against the last government? Yes!

The most sane thing the govt can do is to hear out the protesters and address their grievances first...

Why are you making noise, i wonder why you are not giving your advice to the criminal element
, commiting worst crimes against humanity in Igbo land. But it is Yoruba land you have mouth to talk shit about. For your info The people Abba kyari caught with those drugs are from Enugun, Igbo people. If you don't stop this your hypocritical intentions and let your crude brains learn how to live like humans and not like aggressive wealth thirsty barbarians, who knows you might be the next UGM assasination victim or the next victim whose Organ will be force fully harvested for sale, or the next drug pusher to be embarrassed in Azikwe International Airport, or the next Sacrifice for Okija gods.
As a matter of fact i am smarter than you and I know and have proven that evil is not specific to a particular tribe, its a pity you
Still have not learned and might probably end up in the likes of evan's den.
Funny that the perpetrator is from your back yard, but you are trying so hard to push it on the Yorubas, says a lot about you and your senseless argument.
Now stop mentioning me and condemn like a serious person.
