This is implausible. If I don't criticize the government in power and all its schemes, who should I criticize?

Who has exclusively attributed the role of critiquing a govt to opposing parties?

The endsars destruction happened because the protest was hijacked. That was obvious. The solution to that is not to prevent protests na. Govt can allow protest while they monitor them.

That armed robbers use Cars to rob doesn't mean a govt would ban cars, for instance. Similarly, preventing people from protesting is not the solution to avoiding destruction.

The right to protest is a KEY part of democracy. You can't sacrifice people's rights for your paranoia. It's absurd, really.

Govt is already on the case? How do you know that? How has the govt addressed similar issues in the past? Has justice been always been guaranteed?

Protest is a way for the people to participate in the quest for justice. You can't prevent a people from protesting in a democracy. It's ridiculous! It's ridiculous!

And, please, stop bringing party names into this. If you can't intelligently engage issues at their merit without mentioning party names, this space is not for you. You can take your silly biases to your Lords' campaign platforms.
keep ur stupid and silly takes offline... Nobi only u de frustrated with societal happenings but we should crave for a sane society not protest without directions... Govt arrested the driver he ll charge to court they should come to ur to inform u... So if someone choose to vote the current party u cussing them is very democratic abi... Continue protesting u hear

the question u should ask yourself is this, those who want to protest, can they differentiate between they protesting n hoodlums hijacking it for mischievous reasons?

Reasonable citizens will b protesting n some online influencers will collect money from politicians n change d narrative just like endsars.

Endsars was a very just course but many emotional people couldn't see it when it became politicised n it changed to endbuhari n i bet u no government in the world will fold it's hands n let arsonists take over.
but when Tinubu and Buhari was protesting against Jonathan government then ,only reasonable people were living in Nigeria at that time?

That's the problem with this country, where were all this muscle flexing soldiers and police when the innocent bamishe was being kidnapped and murdered in cold bloodhuh Now coming out with assault riffle to disperse peaceful demonstration and call for justice. One thing I am certain of is "No peace for the wicked"

May God console the family of bamishe...amen
May her killer never know peace including that black face killer brt driver.

May the gentle soul of bamishe rest in perfect peace.

Left to Social Media Court, that driver would have been Convicted & Executed by now.
But we need to allow proper investigations to be carried out by the police to establish facts & not sentiments.

But I think the driver was held at gunpoint by the rapists/ritualist/robbers. If he was part of the hoodlums, they most likely would not have allowed the lady to make calls & send info about the BRT.

But he is definitely culpable for not calling the police after the incident (though knowing our police, many of us would have done same under similar circumstances)
What investigations are you talking about when the bus is back on the road?? In Nigeria 'investigation' is just a catchy word used when the government wants to sweep dirt under the rug. Nigerian police that are still investigating Dele Giwa’s murder till date are the ones ure waiting for!angry
Re: Bamise Ayanwole: Soldiers, Police Take Over Ojota Park Over Planned Protest by sreamsense: 1:26pm On Mar 08, 2022
Some jobless youths and touts are just protest-hungry looking for every loophole to loot and destroy properties. What is the protest for now when corpse has been found, Sanwo Olu has already promised justice will be served and police has arrested first suspect and undergoing interrogation even before the protest was planned?

What will the protest change now that can not be commincated? Which solution will it offer at moment? Many don't use common sense with this their senseless protests. Is it the government that will instruct Brt driver to kill or rob? Wickedness is rooted in the nature of man, some wicked souls will just device any mean to commit crime wheather rich or poor.

What government and police need right now is corporation among citizens; if anybody gets suspicious information about other suspects, don't hide them reveal to police or government so they can be arrested on time because they are human beings that leave among us.

We all want justice - and it appears, so far, that justice is on its way. What is the connection with wanting justice and burning BRT buses that in one way or another belong to all of us?
Since Bamise's death, who has burnt any Tyre let alone a BRT bus anywhere.?People should speak out against injustice.

The tweet calling for burning brt buses is in the op. Hence public apprehension towards the idea of a protest.

I can't agree to your ascertion. When d young lady boarded his bus,he told her to go and sit at the back end. He also switched of the bus light and all windows were shut and he shut the bus door as well. Also he didn't pick anyone else until he picked two guys and a lady, his accomplices at a bustop and didn't stop the girl at her bustop. Even after killing her, he went into hiding and didn't report the case to d policemen. He has been doing it before but the victim was very smart but as a young girl, she wouldn't know what else to do. May God rest her soul and may justice be served.

@Ryan03, in your rush at impetuous and irrational judgement, you made all sorts of mistakes. And,you failed to see the pitfalls in front of you. My post wasn't against the planned protest. I isolated the government and attacked what I see as their high-handedness in handling peaceful protesters.
My advice to you is : don't be caught or driven by the traffic of hasty judgments.

I swear people like you should not be living with us humans, protest is fundamental human right, and if that's how the populace want to mourn, it's okay. I will make sure I pray everyday for the evil human being like you in Nigeria, to have same thing that you support and that happened to innocent people happen to you, and no one will mourn you and the criminals will be left free just like you wish and support the criminals
Can't you see how daft you are? Posting preposterous and giberish post on public forum is a big sign of mental retardation. Who says protest is not a fundamental human right? If it is a right to be exercised without any moderation why did you have to secure permission before you exercise that your human right? BTW were you blind or out of touch with reality to see or hear that even the so called organizers were already posting on public platforms that they would burn down the BRT terminals again? If you were the governor would you fold your hands and watch till such arson takes place in your very eyes again? see who called herself human, There is no clime in the world where government don't regulate protest. It is not even as if you're really empathetic about the matter, it's just your senselessness that's pushing you to write that ludicrous statement.

She was alone in the bus when she was sending VN, once they came unto the unlitted bus her phone later was receiving unanswered calls/messages. Why was the light on his bus turned off if he was still running the bus? This man is definitely the main suspect in my eye, they need to make sure his phone calls are traced.

If I'm alone in a BRT with a driver & he starts behaving funny or passes my bus stop, I'd be angry & agitated & start shouting, hitting/breaking the window etc. I will not just become terrified & go to a corner & be discreetly making a video.
Infact if you threaten the driver you are videoing & informing your family, he will stop any intended foul play.

The video appears to be made under a life-threatening situation. My guess is: the hoodlums entered the BRT, & quietly showed the driver the gun & ordered him to corporate... While this was going on, the girl sensed danger & started making the discreet video.
It's possible the hoodlums realised they were being videoed &...

In any case, if the driver is involved it's very easy for Police to establish that by investigating his
-call records
-bank transactions
-friends & associates
-his lifestyle (if above his income)
& a few interrogations.
Thankfully Mr Governor has assured of his commitment to ensuring the criminals are apprehended.

She entered that bus first and was doing that video when she felt all is not well or absurd.

Then all along the driver did not stop at bus stop to get more passengers, this she stated in the video. Then according to the video her friend then suggested to her that she should manage and stop in the next bus stop without waiting to get to her desire bus stop.

Only for the driver who have not be stopping at bus stop all these while pull up and get the supposed additional 3 men who boarded with her.
If they had entered with her they would have stop the video also her distance from the driver was far off so she may just be doing the video for fun and very far from the driver heaaring

When they got to where they want to execute their plan they then drag her down.

The driver must have been doing this for long,if she had not make that video note all this revelation would have been history.

The questions the driver will find difficult to answer are.

Why did he off the bus light?
Why did he not carry more passengers all along
Why did he fail to report to authority
While did he ascond for days only to show up when the video went viral.

I know ritualist or kidnapped will dare not entered a public transportation of brtbus because of the irregular uncertainty that come with the bus transportation.

Rather it is a complete plan work that they
must have been doing God just expose them
