Any couple with the sole ambition of family growth is expected to have joint account or joint investment. In fact,i have both joint investments and joint account with my wife and my reason for doing this, is because,ever since we agreed on joint investment and accounts,we have accelerated financially more than expected. And another reason is because,what if something happens to either party like death? most women usually bear the loss more than the men and yet,they are likely to frown at this accounts when the idea is brought up. In summary,if u really prioritised self family over individual goal,operate a joint account and see how far u guys can go,but where one party is reckless and stupid with money,pls "stay ur stay and dey ur dey" no by force. 1 Like |

If the couples are family oriented and honest with their selves, It will work really well for them. Always communicate openly about your income, some couples don't disclose their income to each other. Joint accounts should be more like a partnership between the couples, It's far easier to keep track of everything and keep the family on the same page regarding their purchases. |

I believe couples should have joint account while they also have individual personal accounts. Any of the 2 can be mischievous without knowing. Apart from the union, couples still have their individual lives. |

It's not about having a joint account, it's about how much each party is depositing inside. You can't be depositing #100 and be withdrawing #2000 cos we're married. |

Joint account for family and shared bills. Individual accounts. Full transparency. Both spouses should know how much is coming in and from where. How much each person is contributing, etc. |

It all depends on the couple involved. In my case, I support joint account up to a reasonable percent while you each keep the remaining for other personal purposes. |
