You see why this country is kind of doomed
Generating less than 1500mw, a whole ZOO NATION
When Kenya has about 2800mw

Why In 2019, Texas in America had a total summer capacity of 125,117 MW through all of its power plants, and a net generation of 483,201 GWh. The corresponding electrical energy generation mix was 53.5% natural gas, 19.0% coal, 17.3% wind, 8.6% nuclear, 0.9% solar, 0.3% hydroelectric, 0.3% biomass, and 0.1% other sources.
South Africa 58,000 mega Watts

Mr man what are you talking about, electricity has been privatized over 7 years ago, if you don’t have electricity today, blame your predecessors for investing wrongly.

Name one foreign investor that engaged themselves in Jonathan’s electricity privatization? The naive criminal sold your electricity infrastructure to quacks, that is why you don’t have electricity today.

Shameless race of people, ordinary electricity they can’t provide for themselves.

He underestimated the rot in the system, there is a likelihood that by your demise Nigeria will still be in darkness, born no electricity, die no electricity, the people are cursed.

News flash, power is in its lowest, even when the clueless Jonathan was there,it never got this low

My motto for 2022 is “If you support a failure then you are a failure too”
Even before Jonathan

Some areas in Nigeria do enjoy more supply than some other areas.

Street A might be having 22hrs power supply in a day, while street B will be having less than 10hrs in a day, but una go dey the same area.

Since 1999, that's how it has been.

Power supply has been so terrible in Nigeria has a whole since 1999, nothing special have been happening in the power sector.

How many MW was added between 1999-2007?

How many was added between 2007-2011? How many was added between 2011 and 2015? How many has been added between 2015 and 2022?

I'm not hear to wail irresponsibly about Nigeria problem.

A few millions paid to them and the need for foolish control.. .. Naija will always be mad. . Who did this to us . Ow did we get here ..

Despite the highest tariff ever been paid by Nigerians for electricity, during this presidency of Buhari Nigeria has recorded the LOWEST power generated EVER,since 1914
Shame on your ignorance, shame.

When a country like South Africa is generating over 58000 megawatts. This country should be sold.

With this drop in power generation , you would be shocked to find out Niger Republic that get their power from us enjoy steady power supply from us Non-stop. I wonder what's the arrangement with them with Nigeria.
Re: Blackout: Power Generation Drops To 1,145MW by jimcaddy(m): 12:20am On Mar 10, 2022
You see the issue of power in this country. I can only blame the government of then former president Olusegun Obasanjo. If not that corruption has eaten deep into many Nigerians like cancer, why can't the government be responsible for power generation. How difficult is it to generate electricity? How do other counties like the US, Canada generate power? These are counties with far more population than us. Corruption, greed will never allow anything to work in Nigeria. It's almost as if we are cursed in this country. Goodluck Jonathan and Yar Adua came in and sold the power plants to individuals who bought it and they are doing a completely horrible job. Yet some other people are there taking advantage of this whole situation by importing generators into the country. Nigeria has the largest number of generator users in the world. It's such a shame that in 2022, we are still battling with the issue of electricity. The whole world has advanced, we are still left behind. But greed and corruption will never let us do the right thing. Nigeria has the potential to be a great nation, if not the best nation in Africa. God gave us everything that we need. But what do we have? Everyone is all about himself or herself at the expense of others. Why not even allow each state to generate their own electricity. Big religious institutions have their own in-house generating power plants and they have their own electricity. Why can't each state do that. All these national grid this and that is total BS. We keep doing things like we are still in the 70s.
Re: Blackout: Power Generation Drops To 1,145MW by jimcaddy(m): 12:24am On Mar 10, 2022
Do you know that it's one rich man who has one of the generating power plant that decided to sell the power he generates to Niger and Chad at the expense of selling to Nigeria? Nigerians would prefer to codedly deal with foreigners and make their money than to deal with their fellow Nigerians. It just shows you that we have deep rooted issues in this country. We simply don't care. It's always about me, and me alone in Nigeria. Greed, corruption has finished us in Nigeria

I totally agree with you. How can you even privatise a critical amenity like electricity? It makes absolutely no sense. It's just like saying you want to privatise water supply. But our problem in this Nigeria is greed and corruption. Many Nigerians don't have conscience. It's all about themselves and what they stand to benefit at the expense of ever other person. Then when Goodluck did it, we were hailing him. But now it has proven to be a dumb move. Why not ask each state to generate their own electricity.

Some one said they pay full amount as at and when due, no stories. That's why they have non stop power supply.
But if you look at it from a businessman point of view. They rather deal with customers who pay full and regularly than our People sometimes who might tend to cut corners and give stories when it's time to pay.. Either ways it's the sad reality.

If we had competent leaders this would not be happening. Unfortunately so called educated youths here still defend an incompetent government. One of them here is still blaming Jonathan after 7 years of him handing over to Buhari. Too bad, too sad.
