3 Major Ways The United States Of America Generates Electricity For It's Citizen by phoneport(op): 9:28am On Mar 10, 2022
The Reason for this post is, WHY CAN'T NIGERIA EVER GET IT RIGHT LIKE AMERICA?

Electricity is an important energy source for humans. Humans largely depend on electricity for most aspects of their lives. Because of it's importance, electricity generation has become one of the fastest growing sectors in the World.
Many countries have their different sources of electricity and for a country like the United States of America that significantly utilize electricity in a large scale, it has multiple sources for the production of its electricity. The United States of America has over 7 sources of generating electricity. Interestingly, only 3 of these sources produce about 80% of the country's electricity.

The other sources that produce the remaining 20% include Wind, Hydro, solar power, biomass, petroleum and geothermal.

According to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), below are the 3 major ways the United States of America has been able to generate electricity in a larger scale for itself.

1. Natural gas.

The United States of America generates about 40% of its electricity from Natural gas. The Natural gas is combusted in a combustion turbine or used to power steam turbines for the production of electricity.

2. Coal.

The use of Coal generates over 19% of the electricity produced in the United States of America. The coal is used to boil water into steam, then the pressure from the steam pushes the turbine blade, which then generates electricity.

3. Nuclear energy.

Nuclear energy is generated through the process of Nuclear fission. When the nucleus of an atomic matter splits, some amount of energy is released and that is how Nuclear energy is generated. This energy is used to power a steam turbine. Nuclear energy produces over 20% of the electricity in the United States of America.
