I will just advise folks back home in Nigeria to invest some of their savings. It's better to have little trickle in as returns (please ignore all these sharp money doubling schemes) than spend it all trying to survive a bad economy. Even if it is 2% trickling in monthly, it's still better, honestly. You just have to fashion out a means to brace yourself against the spiralling Nigerian economy. A word is enough for the wise. 3 million or even 5 million might not necessarily be sufficient to relocate you to Europe or the Americas, but if you put it into something and it's growing slowly but steadily, you can achieve your ambition to move abroad permanently in no time. I created a discussion around this already and will be willing to engage further discourse on it. |

Shevchenkko: ..I am defending nothing and no one... I just want to stop you from showing the world your level of foolishness.... The only to progress as a nation is condemn what is bad and praise what is good.. If the leaders are responsible for a situation bad or good....blame them or praise them... But it's highest level of ignorance and disservice to be blaming the country or its leaders for something that has nothing to do with them.... Remember that when your preferred leaders get there .. they still battle with the same issues... Learn to correctly identify the problem so that you can proffer the correct solution |

dele1727:Was I the one that did the initial comparison? The one hour wages on the US is almost a quarter of the Nigerian minimum wages. Someone in the US only need to work like 5 hours to earn the Nigeria monthly minimum wage. |
| Re: Jet Fuel Now ₦670 Per Litre From ₦170 - Airline Operators Cry Out by Greyworld: 6:43am On Mar 11, 2022 |
dele1727:I'm sure you don't understand how these stuff work that's why you think you have knowledge. First of all, in most states in the US, minimum wage is 10usd per hour and above. so if you work for just an hour you can get 2liters of petrol or more. Back to Nigeria where minimum wage is 30k for 26 days of 8 hrs.... Thats is like 208hrs and you earn abt 144naira for those hrs. Not even a litre from an hour job. |

dele1727:No, your claim was $2-$3 per litre. It is actually $4.32 (average) a gallon today and nowhere near what you want me to divide. Dividing that figure ($4.32) by approx 3.8 would give you $0.88 per litre (average). |

Greyworld:You people are always taking what pays your view and leaving the rest... And no...minimum wage in the USA is not $15(only a few states pay that)..the minimum wage is around $7.25-9.5... And speaking on wages...How much is the VAT in the USA...as much as 11.5% compared to 7.5% here... How much is income tax? How much is the cost of housing? Many things to compare but it does not explain why the cost of crude oil components is rising in the USA with out an increase in the earnings and you don't expect it to increase here... We are talking of the reason for the increase....and Note it just starting

Astoria:Bros forget these arm chair scholars. Why would you in the first place compare with the US who is a major importer of crude why not compare the price change with other OPEC Countries or oil Exporting nations... Now see the difference in the UAE This is the true reflection of the price of crude and not that product of ineptitude you experience in Nigeria. Enough of the subsidy sermon .. remove it once and make sure we see the corresponding infrastructure(s) and a subsequent decline in price of goods as local production would be encouraged

dele1727:Now compare the price change with other major oil exporting nations... then you ll get the point. At least here in the UAE the price changed but its hardly noticed. I only found out now cos I had to check. |

dele1727:When you people quote prices in America, why do you forget to make reference to the wages in America? Many citizens there earn over 5usd per hour and that's among the least . @5usd per hour, if an American works 5 hrs in 20 days, he will have over 500usd in a month. Is it not suicidal and demonic that the minimum wage in Nigeria is 18k NGN which is not up to 40usd in a whole month and many are still earning less than the minimum wage? and you still want Nigerians to buy fuel for $2? Please let's be robust with our analysis |
