Do you think a missile can be fired accidentally ?

Inorder to initiate a launch simply speaking some of the steps will be as follows

1st FCS will need to be enabled to do automated pre firing checks ( everything ok or not with the various subsystems & health etc ), if FCS determines everything fine then it will ok proceed or disable further action

2nd after that Target coordinates will be recieved by system along with authentication codes , only after that further action enabled

3rd manually 2 persons have to key in authorisation to enable launch button

Also after launch within ~1 minutes self destruction mechanism of missile turns on and waits for the self destruct signal incase the launch officer decides to press self destruct button to terminate the missile in flight if so required

but the missile flew into pa... , not only flew but did 90 degree bend and ended up close to ~ 3 major bases and that too impacted into a populated area where no humans were resident at that time also if 'accidental launch' why was self destruct not triggered which will be even more easy to do 'accidentally' than the 'accidental launch '

(What is possible is that the missile changed direction midflight incorrectly and ended up where it should not have)

Could be it was a deliberate targeting or messaging of some sort ( eg lots of drones dropping weapons / drugs across border recently )

Interestingly A major IAF excercise got cancelled recently just after it began

Also same area a PAF fighter crashed , pics of drop tanks on houses surfaced in SM

NOTAM of a pa... missile test was active in the same area

Also a hijacker of ind... airline under protection of isi was shot dead

Was even surprised when Pakistan purchased the J10c fighters. Thought they were assured about the capabilities of the Jf17. Seems they're a lot of stuff hidden behind this skirmishes that we don't have a single clue about. Whatever is happening right now, between Pakistan and India, the both governments should de-escalate the issue. We can't afford another war in the Sub-continent. That's expensive.

But do you expect a Pakistani military response, chief?

the fact that they were willing to spend more on a Chinese aircraft instead of one they manufacture themselves for much cheaper probably indicates they are not that similar in terms of capability

Ps this is not saying that the J10 is better or the JF-17 is not any good but that in terms of role That Pakistan want the J10 was a better fit

The JF-17 and J-10 are similar, parts are interchangeable also, the aircrafts are produced by the same company.

The J-10 is of a higher class and capabilities obviously, but i was thinking they would have gone for a 2 engine fighter. This was until I realized they had no 2 engine fighters available to them in the market.

Many years ago a IAF mig25 flew over p...... accidentally as it was claimed than too, but nobody could answer why it went supersonic creating a boom and forcing F16s to scramble (which was a waste of time)

You surprised ?
I ain't surprised last 10+ years they wanting to buy J10 Su35 etc etc provided someone would fund or provide loans for the same , Chinese (killed 2 birds with 1 stone) eventually agreed to fund it via loans

War will happen eventually someday

It's a waste of time try to anticipate the moves of others most of the time , humans ain't reliable

And than there are real world indicators which r better pointers eg state of economy , internal domestic conditions , domestic political powerplay , civilian military tug of war etc

Regardless of whether the stories of Vlad's logistical issues are real a tactical need imo exists for a high capacity cargo drone capable of at least 120 kts,max distance 150 kms with max capacity 300-500 kg purely for delivery of fuel,ammo and other ordnance. Imagine a flight of 4 landing 82 mm rounds to a mortar group near Winchester or 2 tons diesel to a stalled platoon instead of risking a valuable 20 mn $ chopper and 3 highly trained flyguys to do the same.
Does the concept make sense?

Yes

Many countries / companies r working on same

It will happen in a big way into the future as related technologies mature

It will go beyond providing replenishing ammo stocks / food to combat units

As of now human element involvement is required eg helicopters can op at certain conditions where cargo drones will fail

They seem to play different but similar roles. Nevertheless, the anticipated Jf 17 block 3 is supposed to be "on par" with the J10C. Heck!, Islamabad even claimed that the block 3 can counter the Indian Rafale fighter jets.
Even during the Balakot incident, they said they shot down a Su 30mki with a Block 2 Jf 17!

I haven't really followed on the J10 since 2018. They were really short legged then in terms of range.
