Indonesia is not a typical Muslim country. Sharia is not their constitution. They are ruled by a secular constitution. Yes, you do have religious fanatics and very observant ones but the country is quite moderate. There is an island in Indonesia that is ruled by Sharia but others are not that way. Bali, a popular tourist resort, is majority Hindu, a religion practiced by many before the coming of Islam to both Malaysia and Indonesia. Both countries are traditionally Malay nations
