Buhari and federal government allow this electoral act to rest and face the economic problems and hardship nigerians are facing and solve the problems.. like high costs of disel, fuel and fuel scarcity, lack of electricity power supply, poverty, hunger, inflation, unemployment, bussiness struggling to survive the harsh and hard economy, refineries are not working and many other things.... this is what nigerians voted for you to solve not amending electoral bill or act to favor your selfish interest |

ufotunang:It's good this is going on. Electoral Games had been our problem in Nigeria for long. Elected persons would leave their jobs and be playing “politics of the next election”. But if all these are settled well, they would stop stacking money for rigging the next election, and do what would please the people who actually voted them. |

Franky70:Electoral act and constitution, which is supreme? Cause the constitution stipulates resigning at least 30 days before the actual elections. Oga, that clause will be removed. If it isn't, political appointees will still contest without resigning and the courts will uphold the decision. Y'all are quick to attack Malami. While I admit he may be an idiot sometimes, on this he is right. Get the constitution and go through yourself. |

Racoon:Oga, electoral act CANNOT trump the constitution. The constitution stipulates resignation at least 30 days before the actual election. These lawmakers are greedy people. Fixing laws for your own selfish interests. If they so believe in that clause, they should amend the constitution to tally with the electoral act. It's as simple as that |

Odidigboigbo:You're the only one with sense here. Others are just arguing blindly. NASS get ulterior motives. But they don't want to use sense to actualise it. That clause cannot stand. They should forget it |

Franky70:The judgement is accurate and fair. How can the NASS reject to correct such an obvious contradiction in the electoral act. This is not even about Malami bt sensible laws and the bias or incompetence of our NASS. |

chloride6:No, you have not. Resignation at least 1 year before the elections and 30days are miles apart. Nevertheless, all the politicians are careless about you and me. I am only calling a spade a spade. |

Terrence99:They're always available for dirty jobs yet they rain insults here on others, calling them slaves. Isn't it ironic? Same nonsense Pantanmi did with the fraudulent Professorship by FUTO when there are many Universities in the North where he is from. |

Nigerian type of democracy is now confusing me. This is not what we were taught in school. Or is there no more seperation of power as we were taught |

AntonVince:He has not won anything the clause from the constitution said public service and the Clause from the Electoral act said political appointees also supreme court already gave a judgement concerning who a public servants is which a civil servants.... Malami is the worst AGD we have. Some one sued the AGF without recourse to the people that made the law is that witchcraft and the hearing was given accelerated hearing and also gazetted quickly.... |

drlateef:the new law also talked about resignation, for appointees to participate or be voted for in convensions, they need to resign first |
| Re: We Are Not Aware Of Any Court Judgement On Section 84(12) - NASS by drlateef: 7:48am On Mar 19, 2022 |
chiefolododo:The new law gives 180 days to resign. I don’t know how the process of amending a small section of the constitution that only requires changing days from 30 to 180 will go. Does it require the extensive process of passing through 2/3 state houses of assembly? That’s the question . But I bet you, these desperate senators and reps can deal with these appointees. There are several ways round that. They just need to sit down and employ very cerebral people to help them. |

Odidigboigbo:Don't know why the Nass will make such a nonsense move or it's just a move to get approval from the public. It's unfathomable that they don't know that the act is in variance with the constitution |
