Police Take Over Cross River Assembly by etokhana(op): 10:21am On Mar 22, 2022
Different units of the Nigeria Police Force have blocked all entrances into the Cross River State House of Assembly.

They have also turned back staff members of the Assembly. They were cautioned not to loiter around.

DAILY POST reports that they took positions as early as 6 a.m., Tuesday, according to eyewitnesses.

The different units included the anti-kidnapping and cultism squad and the regular policemen, armed to the teeth.

They have also occupied the Assembly’s premises.

It is suspected that the security build up is as a result of the judgment delivered at by a Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Taiwo Taiwo, which sacked 18 lawmakers from the State and two in the House of Representatives for crossing from the PDP to the APC on May 20, 2021.

Some of the policemen are also seen standing close to Governor Ben Ayade’s office, which is a few metres away.

Motorists and innocent passers-by are having difficult time meandering through the crowd of security men, their vans and other onlookers.

The ruling APC had said they had applied to the Court for stay of execution of the judgment, while they had proceeded to the Appeal Court.

Politics without opposition isn't politics.

APC should know that they can't have the whole of Nigeria.

SS and SE isn't APC. Those crossing carpeting should also know it won't be easy for them on the other side.

Loyalty is always the key.

When elected officials cannot be controlled by their political party, they do whatever they like and the masses suffers the burnt of underdevelopment and poverty. A case study is OBASEKI of EDO state, a rogue governor who cannot unite any political party he joins.
These political prostitutes must be thought a lessen so our democracy can develop.

It's not as if the members of the assembly are of great importance to the hapless masses before. They won't be missed.

They can relocate their plenary to the Govt house since they've chosen to be lackeys to the governor.

The judgement is in line with the constitution. I hope the Supreme Court upholds it and order them to return all salaries collected since the day of defection.
