This was the reason I did a DIY building from plan to finish, I wanted to derv into the minds of Suppliers, builders, designers etc, waht I found was this, 2many variable in the building trade and not enough constants' seriously do not know how Engineers and contractors could give and estimate for a job they are going to do in two weeks, cos prices changes daily. If I was not doing all by myself I would have thought someone ate my money. My advice is please guys lets cut some slacks for builders and Engineers in the house. Sometimes the sublet the jobs to a worker and the worker do not give a damn about reputation and does a shoddy job, I have one as we speak, ordinary window dressing he made a big messs and wasted 3 bags of cement.

Asking for the waybill may not entirely eliminate the possibility of cheating but it will rather keep them on their toes.

While their check is on the table waiting.

I use one of the foremost engineers in my location , that same Person / organization construct for a tier one bank and various state govt including private residences of state chief executives and I hope you know there are just five tier one banks

I cannot extrapolate my situations and make it mandatory for everybody Else under the guise of conscience and what I can afford , there is an economic side to things , we have different pocket sizes , resources and value . Those tiling alone are done for 1000/ sqm , I can easily get the norm of 400 to 600, there is a lady that post here I could have gone with but I dint and e get why though she was much cheaper , topsy is handling one of the projects , that I can afford to engage him says a lot , the other engineer doing the electrical of the other project is the same guy doing all jara projects

When some of us don’t talk , it’s because we know there are different levels to this wealth thingy and how do we even begin to show off when you see bigger things others are accomplishing and the potentials ahead . I do not engage in online fight or drama , I have enough drama in real life running my various businesses and enterprise , i Channel my energy to my executions

There was another guy yapping earlier today that quoted me . Am 100% sure he has not done ANY project that pays as much as mine . I Just let it slide , I no get energy for non productive engagement

Everybody should do what makes them happy , is reasonable and they can afford legally

Why then was slavery and indented servitude abolished, if people should be allowed to squeeze and dime the laborers in whatever manner they want to?
Why do states in saner countries have minimum wage laws. Is what we are seeing an indicator of Nigerian values? Me, my own good and well-being only.
Laws are made to protect societal values.

The same guy fixed the much condemned Mr Azuh’s chicken leg pillars and turned it into a masterpiece.

The young man is called Mr. Donatus. South East artisans got game

Truly, there are levels to this trade. Much respect to those guys out there raising the bar of excellence.

Sure I know them. The cool and very humble Togolese guy was recommended by Blessedsunny2 but I didn’t bat an eye lid while supervising their work.

I didn’t pay per sqm. They scope the work, I negotiated their offer and I paid.

I used Equitoni Bricks. Though they have a new brand name now. There are lots of cheap bricks out there so I’d suggest you get the best available in the market if you’re planning to use burnt bricks on your project.
