Cromagnon: You dey mind some myopic people. Awo that offered free education to everyone living in the west irrespective of your ethnicity. If anything, Igbos who cried of tribalism, nepotism etc are the most tribalistic ethnic bigot I have ever seen both home and abroad. They always seen things from ethnic prism yet complained that are being marginalized. They pass hatred lies and civil war propaganda they were fed from generation to generation. They need to look inward, if other ethnic groups don't trust you and hate you like you people always claim, they need to ask why them. I remember watching Genevieve movie, LionHeart, with bunch of them. The last scene of the movie didn't go down with 99% of them. They were like how could an Hausa man marry an Igbo girl. "It is sacrilegious". I asked if an Hausa man not a person? There were pretty angry. 5 Likes |

phemmyfour: Colonialism started in 1861 when Lagos was made a British colony. Nigeria was officially united administratively (North and South protectorates) in 1914 and christened by that name. So no, colonialism isn't 46 years, it way more than that. 1 Like |

kingjis: Nigerians knows this is a Big fat lie, but biafra people will think diff because of how densely made they’re.. If I ask you to narrate how E started greed& nepotism now, you’ll be foaming.. So Nlamdi Asinwinkwe wanted to premier over SW which Awolowo rejected.. He simply said rule your region and let us rule our region... If not for greediness & cheat, wetin go make an Igbo man pick interest to rule another man’s land? When for sure such thing can never happened in Igbo land? Igbo people started greed, nepotism & the first ever military coup d'ètat. There wouldn’t have been any thing like coup d'ètat if these cannibalistic ungrateful being never existed in Nigeria... This is one of the reasons why an Igbo man can never rule Nigeria! An average Igbo man is filled with Hatred, greediness and betrayal! This is the reason why you see them wailing how buhari will betray Tinubu - to an Igbo man, betrayal is always welcome..

seunayantokun: If Awolowo's style of development was adopted throughout Nigeria, the country would have been free from any political upheaval aside from the rapid grassroots development that would have taken place. A nation cannot develop if development is not from the grassroots to the centre. The one Nigeria ideology where we try to unite a nation with vast differences was the beginning of Nigeria's death. Mutual relationship with a loose government at the centre would have instil people's confident in their respective regional government, the fear of domination by the minorities wouldn't have been there. When development becomes equally distributed to some extent, detribalization would have been easier. But look at where we are. 6 Likes |

Cromagnon: The leaders during the first republic were selected based on absolute majority at central/parliament. Meanwhile, I was particularly talking about his UPN of second republic, which is also western dominant party. His rigid ideology and unforgiving spirit led to downfall of the then AG, under which one of his top ally in Akintola team up with Zik NCNC in subsequent elections. In as much as i had enormous respect for Awo and his legacy, I will give it to Tinubu as master of political strategies and calculations. A typical Awo would've cut off Buhari or ACN out of the merger, forced Akeredolu, Fayemi and co out of south west ACN. Unlike Tinubu, Awo sees others, especially Notherners as unintelligent people that are not capable enough to lead Nigeria. Tinubu is a patient politician, while Awo was too obsessed with egoism and charismatic authority. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Abdul05: That was what was thought of Buhari too... And despite his arguably bad antecedents, the general expectation was that he was going to move Nigeria to an enviable position...Alas! He turned out a catastrophe! So, my friend, you wouldn't know since Awo never became...just as we wouldn't have known had Buhari never become now! 1 Like |

I gotta say I have respect for chief Awo, the sage,a pure and true pan- africanist , erudite educationist, politician par excellence, no lie .this was a man tiffnubu model his political career after ,even copying and adopting Awo trademark round lens glasses..thereby enabling the criminal to Hoodwinked most part of yorrobanza South Wasted land, riding on Awo legacies to fool those Amala and ewedu guzzling morons to office twice.i Stil remember seeing his (TIFFNUBU)massive billboard around ikeja along , sporting an image of him and Awo side by side with the caption:Great Mind Thinks Alike .. little did they know tiffnubu had no such nobility in him, little did they know he was just a common thief ,an opportunist and betrayal of trust .the like of mko learned in a hard way though.my only issue with is that he should have man up and stayed the fukk outta the Biafran crisis then and at least remained neutral instead of working along with the useless, brainless, violent oligarch north.even he himself regretted his involvement to his dying day .and not that he took poison whatever pls .he realized two major things.his yorrobanza cowards people are born betrayal and not really worth defending.he lost the bid for presidency.third he finally realized that the zoo he's trying to be it leader is really NO COUNTRY but a fraud , skewed to favor a certain region over the rest, hence, his famous quote describing Nigeria as mere geographical expression ,failed Britain experiment,a complete disaster , filled with the most useless, backward, retrogressive animals known anywhere on planet Earth. He knew for a certainty..that the country will NEVER work 2 Likes |
