Why Are Nigerians So Evil Yet They Blame Government When They Commit Crimes? by Nobody:
Everywhere in the world, Nigerians are known as dubious people.

Anywhere you tell someone you are a Nigerian, he or she would start panicking because all over the world, Nigerians are known as fraudsters. I heard that Nigerian males are the most sexually carnal people in the universe.

Either they are raping someone, or they are stealing, killing or abusing.

Yet instead of each Nigerian to look at himself and try to reform himself, he would be blaming the government for every evil he and his fellows are committing.

Would the government come to your place of work to stop you from committing fraud?

Would the government follow you around to ensure that you don't kill another person out of envy, or just out of wickedness?

You want the government to protect you, yet you would not hesitate to kill an innocent person due to false accusations or just out of wickedness which Nigerians (particularly the male gender) are known for.

You want corruption and insecurity to end yet you are doing fraud in your business or career. You are secretly planning how to dupe an unsuspecting person. You are one of those who are making other people insecure. You are one of those who have blood in their hands.

You heard the word "Thief, Thief" and without finding out whether the person is innocent, you are already killing the person, yet you are complaining that bandits are making your life insecure.

What is the difference between you and a bandit?

The same way an innocent man's life can easily be cut short because of you, is the same way people's lives can easily be cut short because of bandits

You want to live in peace yet your heart is filled with hatred and malice towards other people or tribe?

You want to live in peace yet someone somewhere does not have peace because of you. Someone is in pains because of what you did.

You want the government to end corruption, yet you are fraudulent and deceptive.

You want insecurity to end, yet no person is secure around you. You would not hesitate to kill someone over a false accusation or out of envy or wickedness. Yet you believe you must be secured by the government.

Why do you think that you being evil, other people must be good?

If you don't change your evil ways, why do you think everyone else must change, so that you would no longer feel threatened?

Or are you the only one who is entitled to security when you yourself are an insecurity to everyone?

You have a great point..the truth is most Nigerians hate taking responsibility for their actions and always tend to find an excuse for every little thing..

Cognitive dissonance...Sometimes hypocrisy...Sometimes the Dunning Kruger effect..are what makes people act that way. undecided

As in, a human being will set up a factory for manufacturing babies to be used for rituals, the next opportunity he has to say something, he insults the living daylight out of Buhari and Tinubu. angry

Another set of of animals will throw a widow and orphans out of her late husband's house so he takes possession of the property, but will be sitting in one corner insulting Buhari and Tinubu. cheesy

The problem of Nigerians is complex. It's not that easy to figure out.

But one thing I know is that Nigerians may claim to be the most hardworking and moral people (they pretend to be moral sef) on Earth but if they lack self-discipline (which I think they do) it's nothing. Look at countries like Germany and Japan. One thing you notice is how much they value and promote self-discipline in their culture. Not just Germany and Japan, many European countries and China too. Even some Americans.

Nigerians don't even have a culture that celebrates genius and creativity.

My dear, the problems of this country is plenty but if we are willing to be sincere to ourselves and ready to put in the effort then I think we can do it.

Nigeria is a country filled with irresponsible citizen that want a responsible government. How can an irresponsible citizen produce a responsible government/leader?

Charity begins at home they say.
Nigerians are not really charitable nice people because we are mostly opportunistic in nature. If e no favour me, then to hell with it.

Our only way out is to train our children to be godly but how many of us can do that huh

The leadership is the cause of these issues. Most developed countries have werey people too, but their government keep them in check. If Nigeria can start little by little in electing reasonable people and not thugs and bigots, I am certain things will change. Just imagine having someone like Peter Obi as a leader in every state, Nigeria will eventually catch up with other developed countries. I am even tired of complaining, the wickedness is just too much.

You are a narcissist. How on earth can you generalized and describe a nation of over 200million people in such language. Shioor
I can't engage with someone like you.
To imagine that many comments above aligned with your views is a shame. I have traveled many times across the world and does not have the experience you described above, I have many Western and Asia friends.

Rubbish, can you people ever refrain from speaking from a clannish and ethnocentric viewpoint?

Was Peter Obi not two term Governor of Anambra? Did the character of Anambra improve in that time or did Anambra continue, for example, to produce by far the highest number of drug dealers per square mile in the SE and even Africa?

You are displaying the character OP is talking about. You claim to want progress but are a tribalistic irritant whose clannish myopia cannot allow him see that everything connected with him is not the best, as he claims, and that perhaps he should start respecting others by acknowledging their competence, deferring to their talent/achievements and judging them fairly.

You are talking of wickeness yet who is more wicked than Obi who abetted James Nwafor, the Awkuzu butcher, kill many Igbos and dump their body in the river? Obi who used Anambra money for private business and stashed money offshore in his daughter's name? You will never see the glaring flaws in Obi. Pathetic tribalist.

Look in the mirror buddy. OP is talking to people like you who are the problem yet can never see that and will continue to blame others for everything.

Tonnes of non-Igbo leaders are proven achievers far betted than Obi. Yet tribalism and hate of others, which leads to putting them down or blaming them for everything, will never allow you see that.

Look at such wickedness in the land. Even an old woman and teenagers are not left out.

Yet when you talk, some people are angry.

Everyone is claiming to be good, yet everywhere and every day, there is untold wickedness all over the nation.

So in your opinion amongst all those who have indicated interest to run for the president, who is the best choice? From my point of view Peter Obi is best amongst all. Both Peter Obi and the rest are not perfect, but choosing the lesser evil who can help revamp this country is what we all need urgently and Peter Obi is the only one that is less extravagant with money, less thuggish and is not a do or die politician. Osibanjo could have been good, but he's not proving himself well due to "table manners"
