how sure are you, how can a people choose an outsider as a king??

it's just like saying bubu is a Sudanese

they did but not all of them.
go and read about Prince Ginuwa of Benin kingdom...
he became the first Olu of Itsekiri after he was sent out from Benin kingdom then escorted by 70 chiefs.
The itsekiris communities of Ugborodo and Ugbuwangue once refused to be under the Olu, and some still do.

According to history, the Itsekiri monarchy is from Benin. The first Olu of Warri was Ginuwa, a Prince and a son of the Oba of Benin.

Olu na d true son of hin ancestors wey no forget where Itsekiri people come from.
E no be like some people wey be Yoruba for Night but for day go dey decieve demselves.

Like Ooni once said to reply some people wey wan revise history wey Yoruba don capture thru centuries old evidences ,physical tradition of burying heads of dia sons ruling elsewhere in Ile Ife and plenty oral traditions ,if u like deny ur Yoruba root like some people dey deny well-documented Bini Royalty Yoruba root thru Oranmiyan, Yoruba people no go send or go force u to join Yoruba but we no go allow una revise our history and culture wey honour our all ancestors . Dat one na 419.

God bless Iwereland of Itsekiri,
God bless Yorubaland,
God bless Nigeria

Today's ondo state was hitherto part of the benin kingdom , History also tells us that edo people "owned" lagos. do we go to the similarities with some igbo people?

If not for the British you no go dey talk all this rubbish.

The prediction is belated because oil had already discovered in Ogun state. Infact the area is ijebu waterside, which happens to be where I come from.

no, the itsekiri people are from Ijebu.. it is their monarch that is from Benin.
they speak a yoruboid language that is very similar to ilaje.

Do you mean the same monarch that just said that their forefathers migrated from Yoruba land to their present location in Warri or is there another one ? I guess you're a Bini person, right ? You guys won't give up on this needless effort to rewrite or twist history just to suit your fraudulent narratives. Even the Bini Royalty is of Yoruba ancestry and that is a fact ! This is why a typical Bini person who is not of royalty will never like any reference to be made to Yoruba when talking about the history of Benin city and its people. The rulers of Bini from the time of Oranmiyan, the first Oba of Benin, are of Yoruba ancestry while the subjects are not Yoruba people. My point here essentially is that both Olu of Warri and Oba of Benin are of common Yoruba ancestries. The two of them have confirmed that to be true.

He explained that his visit was to identify with the Yoruba people, as Warri people regard themselves as part of the Yoruba stock.
