Will The Nigerian Youth Ever Rule This Country ? by Deejay1000(m): 12:59pm On Apr 02, 2022 |
the 2023 election is almost here again and not surprisingly it's still the same set of crooks, old men regrouping to take over from another old man who promised us heaven on earth only to do the opposite of all what he promised. indeed "our mumu never do". “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”. Albert Einstein we expect the country to get better yet we keep voting for the same set of people again and again. according to Pareto's principle, 20% of a nation's population control 80% of a country's wealth. 90% of Nigeria is below the poverty line yet we keep fighting ourselves daily online and offline. the politicians know too well how to divide and rule us just like the British did before them. they know that a united voice will be the end of them so they take it upon themselves to divide the populace through different means which we all know too well. 1. Religion: "the opium of the masses" 2. Tribalism: " the north with their born to rule mentality" 3. weaponizing poverty: this is the biggest problem we as a country are actually facing in wealth distribution. 4. greed: also an offspring of poverty until we rise up and fight for our future as the youths of this country things will remain the same. it doesn't matter which old the EndSars Protest of 2020 is just the beginning of what is to come if things don't change for the better in this country. there is going to be a full-scale revolution in this country in the near future for things to actually change and lives will be lost. for a country as large as Nigeria which claims to be smart we are always ruled by the worst amongst us. I think our biggest challenge is poverty and corruption which have eaten deep into the very soul of the nation . we often complain of the government is corrupt but it's actually everywhere. where do these government officials come from? when there is a hardship on the land people resort to evil and wicked things to survive, these people may not have the intention of doing some of these things from the onset but "evil takes time"... now, what is the possible solutions to ending all these menaces in the country? 1. fostering unity amongst ourselves: every day on nairaland we see tribal bigots, religious bigots insult themselves. and the elites have taken advantage of this situation to divide us further. 2. finding a way out of poverty: jobs are scarce even if you are a 1st Class graduate. thankfully we are in the internet age where you can learn new skills to make money online legally. it does take time but surely with persistence, we will get there. depending on govt jobs is a no-brainer. 3. don't be idle: an idle mind is the devil's workshop. get something to do for yourself and don't allow politicians to use and dump you like a sanitary pad. 4. invest in yourself and the future: if you have the means of traveling out for the betterment of your life please do. and if you feel you can stay here and build it up from scratch it's also welcomed. finally, for things to get better in this country there must be room for positive change in all ramifications, not the one the present govt promised us and delivered the other way round. #MasterMind Please your unbiased comments are needed. please mods move to front page for people to drop their comment and possible solutions if you have any positive to contribute drop a comment

Giving power to an average nigerian youth is like giving cocaine to someone....give them power and they'd get high on it never willing to let go, look at all african dictators; they entered power as youths. I'd rather vote for someone old and near retirement than risk having a youthful dictator. |
