I don't think the runtime affects its box office numbers. Reducing its time might make the movie disjointed and convoluted for better storytelling.
The number is perfect for a start, WB just needs to allow the director to continue his good work by not making (those their) panic decisions along the line.

From what I am hearing, it seems WB are going for a crisis storyline and might bring in Pattinson. They might recast Ezra Miller with Grant Gustin. It lines up with The Flash series ending soon.
