He needs to shut up if he ever hopes of playing for Arsenal.

I hate it when players talk like this, what guarantee?

The only guarantee he will get is what others are getting and that is competition. Fight for your shirt or get out.
He never said he doesn't want to fight, he said he is not going to reserve again which I agree with him

Did anyone say he is going to reserve? Why raise an issue when there's none. If he believes he is good, and is sent to reserve, we will ask questions. But meanwhile he needs to stop talking. angry

We know Arteta is a disciplarian which we love, and we know he won't take shit. He has been vindicated and he will have my full support.

I will never understand why fans will look at what Saliba said and claim he is right. I detest players with leaking mouth; those that run to press at every slight opportunity. yuck! Players like that end up being problematic irrespective of whatever talent/potential/quality they may possess. If push comes to shove, I will even prefer the club cash-in on him.

If he's improved as much he thinks/as being reported by French tabloids, Its no brainer that he will be part of the the bigger project(if he chooses to return to the emirates); whether he will be a regular starter is another matter entirely. There's absolutely no need for this so called shot he just fired at Arteta, if anything I believe this outburst will further affect his chances of being considered as part of the rebuilding going forward.

Let him just focus on playing football , get better at it and stop helping news men sell their papers. At least we've seen Arteta will use any youngster he fancies as part of his bigger project.

Arteta once threw him to reserve just because of a game.
The lad need clarity before he commit, he's now an international player and should be treated with respect

How many 18 year olds do you know that play as regular CB for a top team in EPL? Saliba was signed as a player of the future, he was signed at a time we had at least 5 senior CB's who were competing for just 2 spot across different competitions.

It is normal they send him on loan like they did. Now it appears he has come of age going by how he has enjoyed playing time at Marseille and plaudits he's received thus far.

It will be unwise of him to jinx things for himself with his loud mouth like he's trying to do now. If he wants assurance from the manager he should talk to him through the right channels and not through the pages of newspapers.

Arsenal had the following CB options : Papasthapopulous, David Luiz, Chambers, Holding, Gabriel and Pablo Mari.

The so called "he was thrown to the reserve " narrative u are pushing here, I don't know where u got it from.

Below was Arteta explaining why Saliba was not registered in our competitive squad that season he came back from St Etienne.

"I feel really bad for William Saliba," Arteta said. "Because we had so many central defenders, we decided to leave him out of the squad which was really hurtful for me to do
Are u saying as a coach u will leave one out of the aforementioned 6 CB's and register Saliba instead? If yes, then maybe that's why u are not a coach.

I said sending him on loan was the right thing to do because if the coach felt he was not ready it only make sense that they allow him to go and gather more playing time and experience elsewhere which is what the ub has done.

Now let him have a discussion with the management about his future at the club through the official channels and stop the nonsensical attitude of addressing press men that only profit from controversies such as the one he's trying to steer up with is comments.

The problem I have with u moat times is u speak from hindsight and then u fail to acknowledge now things were at that time....only speaking from perspective of what u know now.

As at when Arsenal was registering players Saliba was an unknown 18 year old that was signed and sent on loan immediately just to ward off attention of other competitors like Tottenham. He was never signed as a starter but as a future to player that will feature in a young squad Arteta was going to build.

We had just signed Gabriel and Pablo Mari whole we belive will replace at least one of a Luiz/ Papasthapopulous / Chambers.

I asked u a question concerning how many 18 year old u know that play CB for a top 6 team u side stepped it. I also asked u if u would register Saliba that was yet unproven and a teenager ahead of our experienced clowns u didn't answer.

The point I was trying to make is Arteta had reasons why Saliba wasn't registered and I think those reasons are justifiable.

Now the issue of Saliba firing shots at a coach he hopes to play under just reeks of Indiscipline and will only do damage to his chances of cementing a place under him; then u people urging him on will turn back to blame the coach for whatever action is taken by the coach as a consequence of his own actions.

Is he the one that needs clarity or the club? Who is paying who? Who is playing for who? Who needs to respect who?

Saliba needs to convince Arteta that he can play for a club as Arsenal. If what he is doing at Marseille isn't convincing then he won't be here next season. That's too simple. Going to the press to make a statement is calling for trouble. And I trust Arteta.

Besides, I am enjoying the current vibe in the dressing room. Saliba is too small for me to break that vibe. He is not even as good as either of our current CBs. angry

Just because of one small call up he wants to talk.

For me this is a bad sign. One of gross indiscipline and arrogance. We don't need such fellows biko.

He was surplus to requirement back then, now he's not. The club couldn't have registered 1 million CB's.

Now he's got a chance to prove his worth, he shouldn't ruin with this theatrics of speaking to the media instead of the coach.

If u have reservations about some stuff at ur work place I believe u don’t talk as the first point of duty, at least u will discuss with ur HR or line manager first Na. It’s that simple .

If u still disagree with me after this , then no wahala . Let’s disagree to agree .

I agree with Spy and Blueray here.
First thing to do is to inform your coach instead going to the press.

While his words might not be wrong, but the medium in which he's passing such info is so damn wrong

Lacazette or ESR don't have business in this game, they are dominating partey in the midfield

Xhaka will just make simple stuff hard with his useless short passes.

Saka's wing is not working out today for us. Maybe we should bring Martinelli in to the left hand side and Pepe to the right.
