Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan has been removed from office after no- confidence motion against him succeeds. Prime Minister Imran Khan has been removed from office on Sunday after a no-confidence motion brought against him succeeds by a vote of 174-0. This is the first time a no- confidence motion against a prime minister of Pakistan has been successful. Speaker Asad Qaiser who was to preside over the vote, ordered by the Supreme Court, resigned prior to the vote. A defiant Khan says he is in a fight to protect the country’s sovereignty and has called his supporters to the streets to defy opponents determined to unseat him. Khan acted unconstitutionally last Sunday in blocking the no- confidence vote and dissolving parliament, the Supreme Court ruled on Thursday, ordering parliament to reconvene. Now he can go and meet Putin for lectures on how to rule forever. This is what stupidity can cause, you've been receiving military aid from US even though your country and it citizens are doing the things that contradicts the military aid. You still ran to Kremlin in just the first two days of war that will destabilize Europe to throw your support whereas your home support is not waterproof against your aid givers. Now he can buy cheap gas and surplus grain for his private abode. Mordi will learn and play like the Chinese is doing or else he will be force to watch from retirement. |

TabletMan:And how is his impeachment connected to the happenings in Ukraine? Always try to know what's happening before displaying your ignorance. Imran Khan's campaign was anti Pakistan parliament, dude was calling for the total dissolution of Pakistan parliament and the members were against him(of course they will be against him). So wetin bring U.S.or EU into this matter. Chai ![]() |

I was reading on a telegram group where Pakistanis were calling his removal a US coup... Why does the US always have a hand in things like this all over the world? Once you are not bowing down to their whims and caprices, you are done with. This is why we need strong nations like Russia. A world where we allow the US to influence elections of leaders and determine who and who leads a country, is not acceptable. |

Kastonkastroll:There was protest of no confidence before he started the campaign of dissolution of his parliament in fact the parliament was later dissolved but was ruled illegal by the court. Morocco PM dissolved his parliament even without protest of no confidence and Khan would have done the same since last year if he was backed by the masses. PS: I am not saying that US removed him but just complaining that he doesn't have a strong home support but flew to support an overzealous warlord when masses back home can be easily manipulated/influence by externals. In Other words United States might have a hand in what's happening to him. That's my stand. Even Khan is blaming US for his predicament ![]() |

chronique:Russia also influence elections just that they don't have the capacity to do it on large scale like USA. Make una stop supporting rubbish. Any nation that invades a sovereign country doesn't deserve any form of glorification but won't blame Nigerians since buhari still have supporters. ![]() |

Camelot65:They gave a lot of valid points and reasons to buttress their points. I don't live in Pakistan and have no reason to doubt what the citizens say. Remember the ousted PM had a row with the west recently when he asked them if they were slaves to the west because the west queried Pakistans vote at the UN on Russia recently. Moreso, his visit to Putin few days after the Russian invasion was also criticized by the west. Aside that, he had turned down the US request to build a military base in Pakistan. On top of that, the citizens allege that their military is highly corrupt and have senior officers with investments in the west. Pakistan receives a lot of military aids from the US government. When you look at a lot of factors, you will see there's a reason to believe their claims. Also, we can't forget the role of the US in our elections in 2015. Even the Ukraine that is undergoing crisis now, is largely due to the influence of the US in that country's elections. |

chronique:The USA angle was started by imran khan when he saw his removal was imminent, I'm not surprised people have bought that propaganda, mind you imran khan dissolved government but Pakistani supreme court annulled it, imran khan already had problems within local politics long before now, his party members denounced him but its easy to blame USA |

sanpipita:I know that part but in situations like this, there would always be a lot of angles and to be honest, we can't also rule out the involvement of the US. That's their trade in stock/speciality. |
