Have You Ever Missed You Bachelor Life As A Married Man? by Josephamstrong1(op):
Ever wonder the number of men you see at beer parlours or joints during the weekends? I guarantee you that 95% of men you see there are married men. What are they doing there? Does it mean that they don't like taking those plates of pepper soup and drinks home and at least share with their families?
I was hanging out with homies over some bottles of drinks in a bar, and suddenly I asked the question? Why do men spend their evenings here rather than at home?
Responses I got were worrisome. Most men ain't happy in their marriages. Some are missing their privacies, some have monitoring spirits as wives and some are dealing with insecure and nagging wives.
One said, he came down to East for business, but the wife has concluded that he's not going for any business and that caused a quarrel between them that morning, and he had to just leave without further explanations. Truth is, he's actually in East for business which I'm part of, same business that would help put food on the table for the family?
One said he can't even greet a sister in the church simply because of his wife's insecurity.
The other said, his wife goes through his phone every day and deletes all his female friends and business female contacts.
Should it be so?
One deals on female wears, and 95% of his customers are all females. The wife has warned him to change his line of business simply because of his business relationship with women. cheesy
Is marriage a bondage or prison yard?
Married men, how do you curtail, handle and roll your boats in issues like this? Is this a statuesque, a norm or what?
Mine is...she doesn't like it when I'm on Nairaland whenever I'm back from work. Said my duty is to face her and not Nairaland. It's weird to see a woman who doesn't like it when her man visits social blogs for news and all. It has made me to always ignore her, read my news, chats with friends online and be happy. You can't push me outside to stay late at night simply because you don't like what I do with my phone in my own house! No naa cheesy

Well, op I know that too many are dying silently in their respective homes. But I don't blame d women at all, I only blame d men that hv decided to jeopardise their freedom and happiness bcs of a wife they sacrificed and spent their money to marry.
U see in this life, what u gv to life is what life will definitely gv u back.
U see d genesis of these brouhaha started when a man was never real to d woman, when a start seen as d queen of d ghost.

Whether your marriage is good or not, no responsible person will take this as an habit.

Like bet naija, those men are addicted to alcohol and peppersoup. They can't seem to get over old habits easily. It has nothing to do with bad marriages.

How do you explain the fact that after drinking and smoking, they still return to the same "bad marriage" every night. No sense at all. Shey na peppersoup wan cure the hell at home? grin Peppersoup that is hot and spicy fa grin

By the way, stop sitting in the midst of irresponsible people who eat peppersoup every night but can't pay school fees.

Like a poster said above, some have taken to drinking even before they got married which is their own way of life.

No one is perfect however, most of the people I know are enjoying their marriage perhaps because we share similar thought patterns.

The only advice I have is that people should discuss their expectations in marriage and be sure both parties are in sync. That way, there are no surprises.

I guess the only thing I missed about being single is the ability to jump about like a headless chicken. I remember telling my wife I can't stay at home all day during weekends cos that is what I have been used to. Now, it is difficult for me to go out as I enjoy family time which I can't explain in full. The interesting thing is we also have our personal lives as such, we are not in each other's face all the time.

Getting married shouldn’t stop men and women from seeing friends and family, and visiting beer places.

As long as you spend time with your family and do what you’re supposed to do back home, you need time to unwind and have fun with other people in your network

Just don’t do anything excessively. Moderate your activities so they don’t take away all the time from your family
