International affairs commentators and enthusiasts, lets discuss this.

This is purely a battle of Super powers. Ukraine is just the battle ground

We cry and berate Russia for invading a sovereign nation.

America invaded Libya, invaded Iraq and invaded Afghanistan for the sake of one man. These are sovereign nations right. and no super power intervened. The only reason America could not overturn the Syrian government was because Russia intervened.

If the West has set this precedence, why won't Russia another super power invade a neighbouring country that plans to join NATO and have access to military base 2 hours away from Russia.

Don't forget that when Russia wanted to join NATO in the early 90s, it was blocked. Only for NATO to accept America as a member.

I like to hear your honest and unbiased views on this.

International politics is crazy just as our interpersonal politics.

In a group, when someone with much influence and more 'positive/friendly views' from members of the group does something against another member, the result of rebuke, disassociation or punishment is less to nought. If same is done by another member, more should be expected especially, if that member is viewed unfavourably by majority of the group members.

Worldviews and politics is a game of favorability and group acceptance.

You can read up about NATO from unbiased sources mainly academic textbooks on International Relations and History.

Briefly
To some degrees, Russia is being careful of its own interests and security. But the security is such a way of ideological insecurity of a future attack. Anyone who is learned enough in History and International Relations knows well what is going on. These wars are embedded in values and ideologies/worldview of world wars and post world wars occurrences and relations

Logically, war against Russia is not going to be an easy one considering the size of the country and weather. Russia is a big country and cold, so you would have to encircle the country and have troops well adapted to the cold to attack it. These lapses are well known to war strategists as these had been seen in the Napoleonic France Invasion of Russia. So the expansion of NATO is tending towards encircling the country. If you look at these countries who are NATO members, their borders length with Russia don't really matter in attacking it, they're small and is only a crazy war doomed to fail that would use those as grounds to attack a country of that size. This is also why taking Ukraine too is not going to be an easy work. A country of that size still dissected into two by the Dnieper River.

This is why Ukraine NATO's membership matters to Russia. All these Nodic countries' memberships really matter. You're encircling the country gradually and more or less with troops who are used to the terrains of the Arctic.

But generally, Russia's behaviour towards 'the humanity' in Ukraine is just too bad and non conservative. Wars have rules and laws.

I just hope Russia is not tendering towards SEPSIS like some of our white blood cells trying to wade off infections (foreign bodies)

Well, all I see sometimes, is a white man fighting fellow white man when I think of their atrocities to Africa.
