Nice one I don't know why lagos was allowed to monopolize ports operations in nigeria for decades when there are quite a lot of other ports in other parts of nigeria wasting away? |

How is this supposed to be news? Ships carrying containers have been berthing at Onne since time immemorial. This was a picture I took in Onne in 2018

RenaissanceGuy:Don't blame anybody. Blame human reasoning and character of the people of the region. Come to the south west. We're good managers of wealth and infrastructure. You get the best of schools here, the best of human resources, the best health facilities and best environment to cap it all in terms of security. Had the apapa port been located in Port Harcourt, militants would have since blown it up. We wouldn't do such here. I wish that oil was first discovered in Yorubaland. By now, you'd have known whatsup in development. None of their leaders ever known that the VAT was supposed to be collected by states and not the federal. It was during the first southern governors meeting which took place in asaba that Mr Fowler who was among the delegates revealed this to them as one of the delegates of sanwoolu from Lagos. They were shocked and Wike was roaring like a lion. We're born managers so, let it be that way. Go to UPTH, UBTH, NAUTH is even worse. Go to DELSUTH, nothing is happening there. Or is it also the federal government who caused decay in those hospitals? Go to communities in the Niger delta. You'd never believe that such a region feeds a larger percentage of Nigeria via oil. I visit Okolobiri always, where NLNG had their plant. They pay royalties to a group of indigenes who would only give paltry to the community and spend the rest in frivolities. They have mansions in abuja and in major cities. They neglect their people. There's no portable water, no electricity. No state would do such here. See the way people are always attacking Tinubu here despite doing a little. We believe that little is nothing amd he's cheating us. We have hundreds of the likes of tinubu in the south east and south south who would rather eat everything. |

| Re: Container Vessel Berths At Onne Port (Photos) by Reference(m): 9:54pm On Apr 15, 2022 |
Retracted my response. The agri-products were actually out bound which is good news. Having a port close to produce actually makes for good economics. |

masseratti:That's not for you to believe. You just heard it for the fist time . He accompanied Sanwoolu to Asaba alongside others during the first southern governors meeting, during which they discussed issues on how to boost the economy of the region by generating more revenue. Issues on security, open grazing, power rotation to the south, etc were also discussed. It was fowler who gave them a pep talk on taxes. You'd not hear more than that from me. |

Naptu2, can you please explain why there is so much fuss about a container vessel landing at Onne? For as long as I can remember, container vessels have been berthing there. At least this is something I can testify to when I worked on vessel stowage and vessel plans at Apapa. Is there any particular reason why this is making the news? |
