You forgot to add Mass Killing, deaths, kidnapping and total takeover by Fulani bandits.

All this nonsense you wrote here can be done by average naira billionaire in the Igboland. Comoare it to what Obi Jackson did to his hometown Okija alone:

Back to the topic, this shows Nigeria is a failed country. These a local government projects done by city mayor/LGA chairman in any serious country.

Watch them blame Buhari and deliberately ignored the bastard that is doing eyes service. Rotimi Ameachi almost relocate ministry of transportation to Daura.

Buhari don't mandate anyone to relocate any projects to his constituency but the useless appointees continue doing eye service.

@OP.

These will all amount to nothing without developing the human resources they were put in place for.

That is the main problem I have with Northern leaders. They are all morbidly averse to developing the human resources around them when this is the fundamental building block needed to uplift the fortunes of the North.

Probably because they fear an uprising from people who will become educated enough to question their leaders and rebel against misrule.

Nothing about the North impresses me today while insecurity, that destroys everything and delivers socio-economic stagnation, is allowed to fester.

That is the main reason i dislike a southern presidency.

For 8 years what did owu or the whole of abeokuta gained from obasanjo's presidency?

For about the people of otuoke?

What about ikenne, how many federal project has osinbajo channel to ogun state.

The northerners look after its own people first.
Southerners only rule for the north to reap.

You have it wrong. Northern leaders are not great at abstract and visionary thinking that understands the development of human resources is sacrosanct above everything else per societal growth and development.

Most Northern leaders, till today, still think gathering the poor outside their gate, to feed them rice and meat, is helpful and a way forward.

When Northernes are 87% of the poorest people in Nigeria then it is clear their leaders are massive failures no one should praise.

It is not about "casting pearls before swines" which is what Northern leaders do.

It is about developing people to gain a template that ensures good human resources can replicate itself to the benefit of society.

Southern leaders are way better in that regards.

it is a norm for southern leaders to develop the north more than their region.

The road to abeokuta was very bad even years after obasanjo left.

If you dont develop your region who will do that for you.

In as much as southerners are developing human resources, physical infastructure must also be felt especially when they are in power.

Do you think if a southerner concentrate all those infastructure in his village, even his so call brothers will be against him on all media.

You can continue crying.
It is not about Infrastructure alone. A good leader understands the problems very well so as to be able to apply the right solutions.

Buhari has failed horribly in terms of the soultions Nigeria, and the North in particular, fundamentally needs the most.

In his native North, given the problems of the region, Buhari should be about the aggressive promotion of education , especially that of the girl child, and the need to de-emphasize the pervasive and oppresive influence of religion in socio-economic life.

We desperately need more secularity in everyday Nigerian life and any visionary President, who himself/herself is not a religious bigot, would understand this.

All that must then be anchored on aggressive promotion of family planning awareness which will show Northerners that having more chidren than one can care for is a future recipe for disaster.

Modern governments worldwide do not house or employ citizens whereas virtually all Northern leaders believe in controlling government agencies, parastatals and jobs as a way of keeping the region supplied with fish when the focus should be on teaching Northerners to fish. Buhari is guilty of this too.

Modern governments also do not create wealth either for the citizenry . They focus on delivering opportunities that empower citizens to do that for themselves. This is why SMEs (small to medium sized business enterprises) are the lifeblood of most debeloped countries of tje world.

That is what Nigeria needs the most. Most Nigerian leaders are abysmal at providing this but Northerners, including Buhari, are worst at it.

One of the best template the North can model her development on is that of Turkey which is an Islamic nation. Why will Northern leaders, including Buhari, not work to aggressively adopt that?

All this comes from a former Buhari fan who campaigned for him in the hope he would be the modern Awolowo of Nigeria.

I actually get your point I am very passionate about as as a fully committed advocate of the DAWN agenda for the aggressive and unimpeded development of SW Nigeria.

The compromise for Southern leaders like OBJ and GEJ is the peculiar challenge of trying to ensure they are not seen as bullying a disabled child in a wheelchair i.e the North.

Yes you're right suggesting previous southern Presidents should get the balance right , and not deny their region infrastructural development, but I actually blame OBJ and GEJ for not understanding that the way to make Nigeria great is by bravely restructuring our nation so that every State and region can develop optimally via leveraging on their own endowment and unique peculiarities rather than waiting on a central pot of money to loot and share.

Some Nairalander made a brilliant comment the other day about the problem of Nigeria. He surmised that we are trying build a country of 210 million people encouraging everyone to focus on resources that is not enough for 10 million people. Misson impossible.

We have to develop human resources aggressively. If that happens then every corner of Nigeria will develop quickly and sustainably. I don't get why leaders today cannot get this when the likes of Awolowo, Nkrumah , Sankara etal did decades ago.
