TINUBU; THE MODERN DAY JESUS

Politicking is more often than not, a game tainted with low blows and below-the-belt attacks, and for the most part that unique make up of frosty accusations, half-baked propaganda and shameless insult-slinging is usually acceptable to all the players involved.

But veering outside the lines of political warfare into the controversial and impassioned world of religion, is not a line many contenders are willing to cross, maybe because like anything connected to religion, it often comes at a high cost.

A tasteless poster recently making the rounds shows a picture of newly-declared presidential candidate and Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo over a message that reads:

"The Judas who betrayed his master. Repent because Jesus is coming soon."

Firstly, as a Christian I am deeply offended by the vile and rather tasteless comparism of Jesus and Tinubu; (if you haven't deciphered it yet, the 'master' in the caption refers to Tinubu; Osinbajo's alleged benefactor) more so, with what this season of easter connotes.

This is not necessarily because Tinubu isn't in his own way influential but Tinubu just isn't Jesus and a betrayal scenario just doesn't adequately sum up the relationship he has with Prof. Osinbajo. In fact, the amateur copywriter and Tinubu's zealous political strategist who coined the offensive caption has shown that they lack the political mileage to support their betrayal claim, because if they really know anything about the Osinbajo and Tinubu mix, they would know that the relationship both men shared was more mutually beneficial than predatory.

But their biggest flaw wasn't their badly-worded text, it was more their thoughtless religious analogy and how disrespectful it is for Christians and Christianity, because if their vindictive word play had involved anything close to an Islamic premise, they wouldn't be as smug and self gratified as I am sure they presently are.

The tin tire person, if Osinbajo is Judas who come be Jesus na?

Man should not play God. We read Jesus fed 5000 but Nigerian politicians always allocate state resources to themselves as retirement package. Even Judas get shame as he returned all the bribed money given to him.

I swear I never see any Nigeria politician wey holy reach Judas

Tinubu is a Muslim, compare thief to their Islamic prophet Muhammad. It's an insult mentioning the worthless useless thief in the same sentence with Christ Jesus not to talk of comparing the worthless thief to Christ.

Lol, saint Tinubu who has never betrayed anybody. He's pure and holy. Madness, I want to see what he will do when APC arrives at that consensus decision and picks Osinbajo. Since it's what he's been unilaterally doing in Lagos all these years, where did he get the moral right to ask that delegates be allowed to vote in the congress?

Tinubu is so desperate. We move with Osinbajo.

Lol. I see you're not pushing Ameachi and GEJ for APC ticket anymore. Your eye don clear ba?

Per the topic, anyone can pay for the printing of posters and dash a few boys 2k to paste them everywhere. There is no proof Tinubu had anything to do with this let alone approve it.

Even "Emefiele for President" posters, considering the joke that idea is, have been seen. You should grow up.

Please don't ever in your lifetime compare corrupt Tinubu to Jesus Christ. You have to apologize and delete this tread immediately. Enough of all these Tinubu supporters stupidity on Nairaland.

I believe it's premature to be arguing with urchins now

Buhari is not on Nairaland, when we get the ticket we would be campaigning for our candidate

Buhari is now your hero ba? We will see how it goes but I can bet you any money APC ticket will never go to Amaechi. We can do 500k to be held by Seun or Mynd if you're game.

Stop fooling yourself. You're not relaxed. Bet you sweat like a Pig at night from anxiety. Amaechi is a 'smokescreen candidate. APC ticket is between Tinubu and Osinbajo.

Unless Buhari wants to deploy the draconian dictatorship whip, which will have very negative consequences for the APC, then Tinubu will carry the day against Osinbajo in any free and fair delegate voting primaries.
